Nothing eventful happens for another several days. However, not long before arriving at Neverlight Grove (1611) you find your path split by a 80 feet deep ravine. The only path you can see across it is a tiny ledge leading along one of the edges across it.

"Well I can change into a spider again, and carry anyone small enough over to the far side." Jhazaal says with a glance over the ravine and the small ledge. "Maybe we could anchor a rope there, then each of you cross, one at a time, and use that rope to keep from falling if you slip."
The Giant Wolf Spider is medium-sized, so can only carry someone small-sized.

"I have some rope Knox and I think all those plans are valid." Vera begins as she steps a bit closer to the ledge. "We should probably figure out how much weight that ledge can hold first before finalizing a plan. If it falls apart when the first person goes across and we don't have a plan B, we'll be in trouble."

(If no one has any issues or feels more strongly for another idea, let's go with the Jhazaal/ Miles tag-team option first and then try and cross the ledge one by one (with Miles' assistance) afterwards)
If the gap is so wide no one can see the other side, rope probably isn't going to reach over. If we can tie the rope between Jhazaal, in spider form, and each person, one at a time, we can try and get each person over via the ledge maybe.

(Oops I accidently misread the DMs description of the chasm. So your plan works for me.)

(Just to make it clear, the ledge leading across is wide enough for a human to cross over on. Carefully. It also doesn't seem unstable, so you're pretty sure more than 2 people could cross at once as long as they're single file. Does this change your plans any?)

(I'd rather it take longer (in game time) and go one by one then risk the ledge collapsing with multiple people on it. I don't have an issue though if the majority wants to move across it quicker though.)
OOC: Being small, the ledge seems fairly wide to Miles, so he is happy to just walk across it if that is helpful. He can secure a rope to his waist and have it tied off to the next person in line as well. We can use a different rope to tie off to the next person and so on, so if we have multiple ropes we can move along anchoring each other at a reasonable distance apart--say 30 feet--so we don't put too much weight on any one section of the ledge.
Miles ties a rope around his waist and volunteers to go first, suggesting a plan where we tie off at 20-30 foot intervals.

Knox walks over to the edge and throws his flame down into the ravine, before recasting the flame.
"This will be a challenge."
Turning to his companions, Knox asks,
"Do we have any rope and or climbing gear?"
"I have a power from Gond that allows me to convert metal of a given value into simple things of equal value."
"The ritual requires an hour and the final construction must contain some metal in its design."
"We have a little gold and some shields we may be able to use, if we have want for something we lack."
Knox waits to see what his companions have that might be usable to get the group across the ravine.

OOC: How wide is the chasm?

(You can’t see the end of it from where you’re standing. The ledge you could walk across is about 18 inches wide.)

Jhazaal is fine with this plan as well.
Will handle this tomorrow. Internet is on the fritz.

Sounds good. Jhazaal will still turn into a wolf spider though.
