Thinking about the previous fight, and the bird that was flying out of reach, Mark realizes that a ranged weapon might not be a terrible idea, if he has the ability to use one. He digs through the pile, finding a crossbow that he could keep loaded and fire with one hand, so that he can continue to defend his party with his shield. If one is available, he sheathes his weapon, loads a bolt into a crossbow, then holding his shield in front of him aims the crossbow away from everybody else and weighs the comfort level.
Once he's done with that, he realizes that he seems to be the most protective of the group. While the chain shirt served him decently, he realizes it did not do enough, and will try to find some other suit of armor his size that may provide better protection, without restricting his movement.

Ember spends ten minutes getting into the splint armor, testing out her ability to move in it. It's pretty heavy, and she's only able to move a little over half her normal speed.
Talon can amplify his voice speaking through the horn, but similarly lacks the lips to blow on it. His drumming's alright.
Still in a small daze Big'Un seeing the others gather around the stash will walk up and say: "I owe someone a thank you for bringing me back to consciousness. No I owe everybody a Thank You. I would like to know who brought me back was though."
Big'Un will take a look at the weapons and armor and will pick up the quarterstaff and 3 of the daggers. He is not sure if there is anything else he would be able to use.
Digging through, Mark notices the hand axes in the stash as well. "These may come in handy as well" he thinks to himself, adding two of them to his belt. Walking to a nearby tree, he takes one and swings the small axe at it. Feeling how light it is, he moves back about 30' and throws the axe at the tree, then goes and retrieves it.

Ember struggling to walk says "How does anyone wear such a thing comfortably? If we are gone walking through the jungle I don't think I could wear this for more than 10 minutes." She will take 10 minutes to remove the armor and don the small chain shirt instead.
Keying in on Mark's idea to throw the axes, Ember gets an idea to dowdo the same thing withawith daggers. She will grab 3 more daggers and some arrows for her bow and imitate his idea by throwing a couple of the daggers into a nearby tree.
After testing out the handaxe, Mark will swap out his chain shirt for the scale mail. He realizes that while he feels that his movement isn't restricted any more than it was with the chain shirt, the gauntlets and leggings provide more coverage.

"Mark": Goliath Paladin - Shipwrecked on Fugue: A Journey of Self-Discovery Razil Trympan: Tiefling Warlock - The Tower of Zenopus
Mark chops at a tree, and leaves a good sized gouge in it, before stepping back and hurling the axe. It totally sinks into the tree he was aiming for, and not the one ten feet behind and five feet to the left... (the throw might have been even worse, since it would be at disadvantage at 30')
Ember takes the time to swap out of the splint for the chain shirt, and it doesn't seem to be slowing her noticeably. She takes some time to toss daggers at a tree she judges should be of moderate difficulty to hit, and manages to stick it on the first toss, but the point is barely in the bark, while the second one falls a bit short.

After trying her hand at the daggers, Ember will take Talon up on his offer of instruments. She will try to play the flute and the horn, one at a time.
Performance: 2
(In case you want a separate roll for each instrument: horn performance 15 )
There's a lot of wet lip sounds as Ember tries to make the flute work without much luck. Her attempt on the horn goes a bit better, she's able to buzz her lips enough to blow a few blasts, might be handy for signalling someone at a distance.

Cool!
In addition to trying out the splint armor, Ember will also grab a shortbow, and a rapier (if available).

Blue gives it perhaps too light of a touch, the dagger hilt bouncing lightly off the tree.
Talon spends a few minutes, and is able to harness the beat of the drum to weave the snapped ends of his lute's neck back together.
