Chaos is as good as misdirection and sabotage for what comes next, thinks Aimon. If they move with speed and without hesitation they may make this work.
He looks to the guard station directly ahead hoping to see the guards either absent or focused on whatever is going on.
“Jimjar, can you manage Topsy on your own?” Aimon asks in Gnomish.
Holding the makeshift dagger he races out after Caelynn and to the edge of the guard station and peeks in, keeping to shadows as much as possible.
Zack steps out of the cell and attempts to call on his internal companion's power to protect him, causing a bit of a faint Deep dark purple to appear around him. Zack takes out the three stones he had been hiding and clutches them in his fist. He brings the fist to his mouth with the opening by his thumb facing his mouth and speaks into it "We have work to do."then he opens his hand to reveal the stones smoking with a faint deep dark purple wisps of shadow. He then looks to the others with a soft look on his face he hadn't displayed in a long time. "There is hope yet, we just have to seize it. By the way, any one of you can throw one of these stones and it will be as if I thew it using my own powers. I can only do three at a time and they only last a minute, but it will give those of us less used to fighting a batter chance and a way to help us if we need to fight. Let me know if you need one, and pick up a few stones if you can." He clutches the stones again and smiles "There Is hope"
"We should go as a group to where Caelynn saw our equipment." He goes with her tryong to make sure he has the other with him. He looks for the other Drow prisoner. Zacks intentions were to get as many of them out as safely as possible @DM What are the other npcs doing?
Once everyone has left the cell, Caelynn leads them past the guard tower and across the bridge towards the shrine. She makes haste, but doesn't go as fast as she possibly can, knowing that several of the smaller prisoners would be left behind. When the group is just outside the shrine, she signals them to halt with a hand and peeks inside to make sure it's empty. She'd rather not barge in and find the priestess again; she has no idea how dangerous the woman might be.
Getting an opportunity to try to use the bit of stuffing she found, Trill will cast minor illusion to repeat Zack saying "We should go... we should go... we should go..."
As you file quickly out of the cell, Stool trails behind Caelynn wherever she goes. Jimjar is helping Topsy along. Sarith is trailing behind the group looking slightly hopeful. Eldeth is in the middle of the group looking around for what the noises are.
As you peek in the guard tower, there is no one inside. There is a stone table in the middle of the room with what appears to be playing cards sprawled across the top with a small pile of gold.
As you hurry across the bridge that leads to the shrine, you can see what the commotion is. Flying above the large outcropping where the barracks are is an aerial battle comprised of 5 massive, blue flies flies with humanoid faces that have a large proboscis protruding from where there mouth would be fighting 2 large, purple, vulture-like creatures covered in grayish fur that have two long arms that end in three wicked talons. The droning sound comes from the fly creatures beating their wings. Now that you moved into the open, the droning sound hits you in full force and makes you feel lethargic. The vulture creatures appear to be spewing clouds of yellowish spores from all over their bodies. They seem to be fighting each other.
Below the creatures on the outcropping are the drow. They are firing crossbow bolts into the fray while Ilvara and Asha loose spell after spell. Cries to Lolth, battle cries, the droning, and powerful screeches fill the cavern with a hellish cacophony. Joorlan notices you escaping, and a wicked smile splits his face. The other drow are too preoccupied to notice you.
As you peek inside, there is no one there. All the drow appear to be engaged with the creatures. Caelynn, make a perception check.
As Caelynn peeks inside the shrine, two fly creatures break off from the group and swoop down to fight the drow. As they approach them, several guards swoon and fall unconscious. One of the creatures stab its proboscis into one of the drow, and you watch as that drow shrivels up and his body falls apart.
Anyone who is proficient with Religion, Arcana, or History can make that check to see what these creatures are.
((Did the bit of 'fleece' work as a material component?))
As they enter into the guard tower, Trill will pocket anything that looks like it was being wagered, if not, then the highest value card that she can see in passing.

When you use the spell, the piece of 'fleece' heats up to the point where it almost hurts to hold, but the spell is cast with no adverse affects. On the table is about 12 gold pieces that you can gather and take.
The fly creatures are called Chasme. The vulture creatures are called Vrocks. They both are demons from the Abyss. Chasme make a noise with their wings that can knock people out and their proboscis drain peoples' souls from them. Vrock release poisonous spores when threatened that grow inside their victum's lungs. Their screeches have the power to stun people.
@Caelynn
The giant spider that you and Alkanos saw before is hiding on the ceiling above the statue of Lolth.
"There's a giant spider on the ceiling, but it was there earlier today and didn't attack us. Otherwise it's clear." Caelynn slips into the room, keeping an eye on the spider as she makes her way to the trapdoor. She gives it a quick tug to make sure it's still locked, then waves Aimon over.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
And with that, they were on their way. To freedom or death, Alkanos couldn't tell. It looked like Joorlan had kept his word at least, and without the interference of any guardsmen, they made good progress towards the shrine. With a little luck the whole group would be armed and ready to go within a few minutes. And once they were armed, they would have a fighting against the drow.
Stealth15 (missed the advantage on the roll so here is the second one 8)
You all sneak into the shrine room without anyone noticing (group passes). The shrieks, cries of pain, and buzzing is somewhat muffled by the stone walls. The spider that Caelynn pointed out stays above the statue, but watches the group with glistening eyes. Aimon, make a Thieve's Tools check with disadvantage because of the shoddy tool you have if you want to try to open the trapdoor. Alternatively, anyone could make a Strength check to break the trapdoor. (The spider is basically a Sydney Funnel-Web spider the size of a Great Dane if you need a visual).
In the center of the room is a large, obsidian statue of Lolth raised up on a dias. The statue of Lolth has 13 small gemstones set into the face that act as eyes. They reflect the low purple light of runes. The floor of the room is covered in woven, black threads that extend up the walls and attach to the ceiling. These black strands resemble a large spider web with the statue in the center. The far side of the room has several small chairs that have red velvet padding. Behind the chairs is where the trapdoor is located.
Zack interlocks his fingers nad cracks them palms outward. "I guess this is a job for me" He squares up with the trap door and punches it. 8 dealing (1)-1=0 damage. He looks to the group with a smile and shrugs.

Aimon recognizes the creatures from descriptions he had read during some of his lessons with the private tutors his parents had gotten them.
”Steer clear of both sides in the battle above. They’re Chasme and Vrocks. Both are minor demons that can make noises that could stun us.”
He feels incredibly exposed on the bridge to the shrine.
”Caelynn, is it clear to enter?”
