With the exchange done, Ink excitedly starts packing the books away, saying "I cannot wait until I can start reading through these. Edmund, it's been a pleasure dealing with you. I hope that Crownsguard's voice acts as a draw to your storefront. Uh, would you know of Geddarm's book covers giant-kin? Seems rather apt knowledge at the moment and I'm trying to prioritize my reading. Oh, and would you know where I can find fine papers and inks - the kind needed for magical transcription? I intend on putting these theories to practice. I can't really afford the materials now, but it's good to know so next time we're through Everlund."
Edmund nods as he puts away the gems. "Pleasure dealing with you, as well. I do happen to know that there is a full section on giants in the book, and yes I think that might be a reason they're selling like berrycakes. The only good giant is a dead giant, in my opinion."
When asked about the papers and inks, he says, "Absolutely, you can buy them right here. I always have fresh stock in."
"Thank ye Rhiuden, ah'll bring 'em ta meet ye soon'as ah find'em." Flint heads for the market looking for heavy winter clothes and his companions.
The Bell Market is still bustling, and there is a large stall with all sorts of furs and fur-lined products on sale...hats, cloaks, gloves, scarves, and more. They look to have a large workbench area in the back, with all sorts of tools for working hide.
He turns to Crownsguard and says, "I have to admit - I'm ready to go straight to the tavern so that I can start reading, but am amicable to accompanying you anywhere you'd like to visit. At the very least, we could pass by the market on the way to the tavern to see if we run into our compatriots."
The sun is high in the sky, at about the noon mark, but the brisk, late Marpenoth wind keeps you from feeling much of its warmth...the breeze whips through the streets and alleyways of Everlund, and over the open market area in gusts. Shoppers who aren't already wearing several layers flock to the vendors selling warmer clothes.
Completely out of character:
The timeline is fully under your control right now, if you'd like it. You can decide as a party what you'd like to do...you have a potential friend among the Council of the Elders, you were talking about getting weapons silvered (and that can happen at armory adjacent to the barracks), there's the pubs and taverns (such as Danivarr's House or the rougher-looking Missing Minotaur) where you can stay for the night or have drinks/meals. The Bell Market is a place where you can purchase pretty much anything from the Players Handbook.
Feel free to roleplay as much as you want. Or if you're just looking to make transactions for standard gear, you can tell me what you wanna buy and we can just do a quick exchange, coins for gear.
If you're waiting on me to follow through on a plan we made earlier, it's entirely possible that I've forgotten about it, so please let me know if there's anything you're waiting on me for :)
And if you just wanna get underway, you can decide where you'd like to go next, either through the teleportation circle or on the road. Rip's family is still out there (and, it would seem, still alive), and I believe there are at least a few adventure hooks that are relatively nearby. You are free to set out whenever you like...and if you'd like to wait hours, days, or even longer, we can do that, as well.
Flint will pick up a heavy cloak and gloves, wool socks, heavy boots, britches and undershirts and some tent canvas. If he runs into any of the party he'll mention Rhiuden and try to get them to meet him.
Ink, too, will pick up some cold weather clothes at the market. His mind is so preoccupied with the books and what secrets he may gleam from them that he's uncharacteristically subservient to the party's wishes.
He does, however, make one exception, the next time he meets Rip, he walks with him, close, almost conspiratorially and whispers, "How are you feeling, Rip? Itchy? Feral?" He inspects Rip as he talks to him, before finally pointing up at the moon, saying "The full moon is almost upon us - I wonder what sort madness will befall the world this time."
Crownsguard, being content to simply follow Ink on his shopping trip, stops at that remark, “Do you believe that we should have purchased that necklace in light of Rip’s possibility of being a lycanthrope?”

// Do you say this in an open area with bystanders present? //
The heavier clothes make for a warm base layer under your armor, and will protect the bits of skin usually left uncovered from the biting cold of the oncoming northern winter.
Will Crownsguard need warm clothes? If so, he’ll pick up some.
// It's up to you whether you want to wear clothes or not, but I'm going to say that you don't radiate heat like a flesh-and-blood person does, so you don't require heavy clothes to retain heat. However, you are still vulnerable to extreme temperatures (such as the kind of temperatures that are deadly regardless of what mundane equipment you have to manage hot or cold environments). In any case, I don't think warm clothes would do anything for you either way, besides making you look perhaps more normal at a distance :) //
The sun dips towards the horizon as you all find each other in the Bell Market, and the discussion turns naturally to where you’re going to go from here.
(At this point I’m going to say that Marav’s wild shape has worn off)
"Very well, Flint... Let's go meet this contact you made here in town... Rhiuden was his name? Will I have time to get some reading in along the way or while we wait?" Ink takes out Volo's book from the Bag of Holding, continuing, "There's some useful information here about giants and other local fauna."
During the walk over, he falls in step with Rip, getting in close, almost conspiratorially and whispers, "How are you feeling, Rip? Itchy? Feral?" He inspects Rip as her talks to him, before finally pointing up at the moon, saying, "The full moon is almost upon us - I wonder what sort madness will befall the world this time."
Ink looks at Crownsguard, not entirely sure what he means. Then it dawns on him and Ink squints his eyes at the warforged. He finally shakes his head "no" and tells him, "No - everyone is entitled to certain freedoms and choices."
