Welcome, heroes! Greece is a land filled with myths, monsters, and prophecy, a perfect land for adventurers. From the Oracle of Delphi, the sunken city of Atlantis, to the Sea of Monsters, the realms of Ancient Greece are places of legend, and where legend is found, heroes are born. These lands are varied, with cities, ruins, and many people in need of protecting from dangerous beasts.
You are a hero, a powerful individual with a specific skill set. You have been on quests and adventures before, but not many. As a new adventurer, you have journeyed to Delph to discuss with the Oracle of Apollo to find out what path the Fates have put you on. Whether or not this is your first time in Delphi, you have just received your first prophecy, detailing what path you should take.
Hello, possible players. This is the recruitment thread for a new Play-by-Post campaign that I am starting on D&D Beyond, called Finding Fate. It will be a party of between 3-5 adventurers, relatively small to keep the game fast, and to have enough time for each player to be in the spotlight. The game will take place in Ancient Greece, as I love greek mythology. Fortunately for those of you (like me) who like greek mythology, but aren't big on accurate greek history, the time period will be vague. This takes place after the Trojan War, the Giant-God War, and the foundation of Rome, but what time this takes place in will be ambiguous.
Character Creation
Campaign Sharing: I do not have campaign sharing, so unless a player has it, it will not be available in this campaign. I have every D&D 5e book in its physical version, but only have one book on this platform. If you are similar to me this way, you must create a homebrew copy of an official subclass, race, feat, or spell if you wish to use it.
Homebrew: All of my homebrew subclasses are available (Chronoturgist Artificer, Arcane Paladin, Souls Paladin), and other homebrew must be approved by me. I reserve the right to modify homebrew at any point during the campaign or before it due to any issue I determine with it.
Unearthed Arcana: Similar to homebrew, I must approve of it beforehand, and may change any aspect about it during the campaign. When an unearthed arcana feat or subclass is published in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, the official version will become the default version in this campaign.
Races: The main races are human, centaur, and satyr, but you may play anything official if you reflavor it to fit the setting and campaign (examples; a fallen aasimar as a demigod child of Hades, Orcus, or Thanatos, an air genasi as a child of Aeolus, a warforged becomes a sentient automaton created by Daedalus or Hephaestus).
Class/Subclasses: Anything is fine if you flavor it to match (example; a Four Elements Monk as a Spartan who chose to serve the Four Winds instead of Ares).
Level: You will start out as a level 3 character, no multiclassing upon creation, but it will be available later on.
Ability Scores: Roll 4d6 - lowest, reroll ones one time. If your overall stats add up to below 72, you may choose standard array or point buy if you want (If you roll too high, which is highly unlikely, I can tell you to reroll).
Backgrounds: Anything that makes sense (examples; a sage as a philosopher from Athens, an entertainer as a playwright who worships Apollo)
Equipment: Standard starting equipment. Choose one item to be your Bonded Item. This item is a special magic item, with properties determined by you working with me. It is a special item, with a backstory of your choice, and features depending on this backstory (example; a bronze rod that was dipped into the Phlegethon, granting it healing and fire powers, a spider silk cloak created by Arachne, granting the user powers over spiders and webs, a torch lit by Hecate, granting powers to see through mist covered objects and creatures. Use these as inspiration, don't copy them. )
Backstory: You must be a unique hero, do not copy an existing greek or roman hero (or any other mythology, for that matter). You can use any character backstory generation method you like, as long as it makes sense.
Character Submission Template
Name: (Please choose a name that makes sense for ancient greece. Don't just choose "Jack" or "Oliver", please)
Race/Class: Please put your in-game race first, and then in parenthesis the race you are using (if you're using a different race to represent your character's features). For example: Human (Dwarf) Forge Cleric To clarify, your race should be something that makes sense in Ancient Greece, and the race you are using should be only aesthetic. You can have the stats of the Shadar-Kai race, but since elves don't exist in Ancient Greece, you should choose to reskin it as a human who was changed by the Underworld, or some other reflavoring that makes sense for a greek setting.
Backstory: Please include in a spoiler.
Faith (if any): If you worship a specific deity, list them. Clerics and Paladins must be devoted to a deity but Aasimar and Divine Soul Sorcerers have to be connected to a deity, but not necessarily have to worship it.
Physical Description: Please include a physical description.
Bonded Item: Please include your item, and some features you want it to have. It will scale with you at certain levels.
GoodBovine, you could do Thanatos, but here's a list of other deities that could work if you wanted to use them. There's Hades, Thanatos, Erebos, Nyx, Horkos (Greek version of Orcus, not D&D's Orcus, this Orcus), Atropos, and many others that could work.
Edit: Also, the Doors of Death don't exist in greek mythology, from what I can find. They seem to have been invented by Rick Riordan.
I was born in Sparta, but left when I was only 6 years old, to find adventure. I was quickly ravaged by monsters and decided I need training before going on adventure again. I eventually found a scary looking old sorcerer, and asked her to teach me. she told one lesson before trying to kill me: never trust anyone. I ran away, and found my self in a cave. when I went farther in, i found a priest of ares. i talked to him briefly and left the cave with a debt to pay to ares, but some of his powers in me.
Description: a large, charismatic, silver scaled dragon born who is slightly skinny. has blue eyes. has a love for adventure.
Bonded Item: a spear created by hephaestus. features:
deals 1d10 (1d12) damage
has one charge that can be used to gain resistance to fire damage. gains the charges back at dawn.
You were only supposed to reroll ones once, so that 8 would actually be a 7.
I thought I did only reroll once. The original four rolls were 1 2 4 1. New numbers after rerolling once were 2 4 1 2. Drop the lowest gets 2 + 4 + 2 which is 8. Also, hovering over the rolls, the text part says rerollOnce. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

For me it shows this:
1 2 4 11 2
That's only possible if you rerolled one's always.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Okay, something wrong is happening with my computer, I think. For both ArtymisMoon and BaconExpert's rolls for me, it shows them rerolling ones a lot. It must be me, if you did reroll ones only once.

I'm seeing that too... I swear i made it reroll ones once. If you want me to use standard array or point buy I am totally willing because I have no way of proving it
