Under the bed, Emre finds three gold necklaces studded with precious gems.

Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
Byllemura, still outside of the windmill with the kids, sends a message to Valanthe: "Hey! Is everything alright in there? What's taking you so long? The children are getting nervous and would love to find warmth, food and rest in a safe place..."
One of the beams on the mill's exterior shatters into splinters. The mill lurches towards Byllemura and the children. Valanthe, Emre, and Thpas (at least, I think Thpas was inside) are thrown to the side.

"Right, Erme, perhaps they could prove useful. Let's take a closer look at them outside with the others. I found another one of those roses and stabbed it with my sword - I supposed I'm lucky in that I didn't have some crazy vision like the first time I found one of Strahd's roses."
Valanthe accompanies Erme back downstairs, seeing Thpas, says, "Erme checked everything up there, only thing to be found was some jewelry, perhaps it's best if we look at them outside in the day light - or whatever they consider to be daylight in this realm," Valanthe walks out the door with Erme, Thpas his rascally imp, in tow.
"Hey Byllemura - nothing else to be found up there, seems like these were the only two kids left."
Then looking at the children, "We are really sorry that you had to go through that, but your safe now. We're going to head back to Vallaki - at least, I hope that is where you call home."
"Before we leave however, I'd like to take a look around the grounds." Valanthe proceeds to circle the windmill and the grounds around it - is there anything of note or interest?
"Once we are a good distance back, perhaps we can put this windmill out of it's misery. I wouldn't want anyone taking up new residence, continuing this sinister bakery." he says as he follows Valanthe out of the Old Bonegrinder.
// Sorry, this is a little jarring; I thought Emre has already made her way outside. I'm preparing for a game IRL tonight and my creativity is shot—for the sake of the story please assume that Emre makes her way out of the windmill as quickly as possible and then relates the following to everyone in the group... //
While leading the children to a safe distance from the tower, Byllemura tells them: "I forgot to ask. What are your names? Do want to see something fun? Thpas, shall we burn this cursed windmill to ashes?"
"You and Thpas may want to see if it crumbles on its own before burning out what energy you may have left." As stated earlier, Valanthe begins a wide sweep of the grounds, ensuring that should the building crumble she no where near it, seeking out other points of interest or traces of other activity by the hags or their allies, if any.
"Absolutely Byllemura...we didn't start the fire, cuz the Mills been burning since before it was Lurching."
Pondering his own words he thinks to himself. We should really hire a bard to sing of our accomplishments here today.
"... I'd love to take it to the ground".
Thpas takes his focus and begins casting Eldritch Blast as quickly and often as possible until the windmill shakes and quakes, and crumbled to the ground.

The boy, who appears to be seven, says "My name is Lucian. This is my sister Myrtle." gesturing to the girl, who appears to be barely five. "We come from the village of Barovia."

As Byllemura and Thpas quickly bring the mill to its ruin, the children laugh nervously. The rain makes it difficult for Byllemura's fire bolts to catch, but those that get into the interior burn quite well. Thpas' eldritch blasts dance across the exterior, shattering glass, wood, and stone. After ten minutes, the mill sags into a miserable heap on the ground.

"Yes, we should go back but I wanted to search the grounds first."
Lucian says to Thpas, "We don't know Gertruda. But we've heard of her. She ran away."
About a hundred yards from the mill, Valanthe finds something:
Four stone monoliths stand in a circle. Each moss-covered monolith bears inscriptions of strange runes and pictures. The main illustration on each stone is a crude etching of a city. Each stone depicts the city in a different season. On top of the stone depicting the city in autumn, a raven sits, pecking at something. In the center of the circle of stones, there sits a pile of teeth. Children's teeth.
