Valanthe gathers the teeth, digs a small hole off to the side, beyond the monoliths and buries them there. She then falls to her knees and prays, calling out, "Eilistraee, hear me!" She begins speaking and singing in the language of heritage solemn funerary hymns.
The raven stops pecking on whatever it was pecking at and looks at Valanthe.

Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
While Valanthe buries the teeth, Emre runs her fingers over them, checking to see if she can sense any aura of death. // Not sure if a roll would be appropriate here? //
"Does anyone know if the people of Barovia have a practice of collecting the teeth that their children lose? My parents often told me of the tooth fairy, but I remember being too scared to put any teeth under my bed for her, so I would always throw them away."
The raven flies at Emre, carrying in its mouth one of Morgantha's pastries. It sets the pastry at Emre's feet.

"...I see." Emre chants the rites of Kelemvor over the buried teeth, a distant look in her eyes as she does so. You might be quick enough to see a single tear appear in her eye, but it is gone quickly.
"I found the teeth in between all the monoliths ... I can't believe that it's where they were meant to be. The hags did this ... Their stain is on this place. We should cleanse it - bring some light into this darkness."
Looking at the monoliths, Valanthe continues, "Perhaps Byllemura and Thpas could make sense of what these runes and pictograms are trying to say."
Once the burial of the childrens' teeth is complete, Valanthe returns to the circle, kneeling at the center stone and begins praying once again, hoping to get rid of the stain the hags left in this patch of earth.
(@DM what would I roll to learn about the markings or the placement of the stones? I am proficient with Arcana and Religion, if that makes any difference.)

The four stones are arranged in a circle. The runes depict animals such as ravens, wolves, rabbits, and elk.

Erme finishes her prayers, saying, "I hope that Eilistraee's song found its way here to cleanse these grounds from the touch of those horrid hags."
Upon rising, she responds to Erme, "I believe we're closer to Vallaki. Besides, we still have business there - I think. We can leave the children at the inn - perhaps add to Ireena Kolyana's clutch of chicks. When we have business again in Barovia, perhaps we can take the children then."
Valanthe goes back to the monoliths looking at the city depictions, particularly the autumn one on which the raven sat, and says aloud, "I wonder why these things are here? Do you think any of these cities depict those here of Barovia?"

"That's probably for the best," says Emre. "They do seem to like Ireena."
"She does seem to have a way with children..." he looks at the two youngsters as they cling to Byllemura "stay close, little ones. We'll take you to see 'aunt' Irena. She will help keep you safe."

The cities depicted on the stones are vague in detail. Valanthe can make out a wall around the cities. After some studying, Valanthe finds out that the cities are one and the same, only they are in different seasons of the year on each stone.

"Erme!?!"
