Alaric turns to Herne "So what say you? You owe him your life." He'll then turn to Cygnus and reach out his hand and say to her "The sword if you will ser knight".
"Aye Milord, I do. It will be a regretful honor to lie him to rest." Herne moves towards the body to be of assistance.
Syr Cygnus will hand over Vrajitor's sword, "I had wanted top lop off that creatures head, but we did give it our word. It is cold enough here that we do not need to worry about laying the dead to rest in this forlorn place. Better we wait, I think, until we can find a more suitable spot. I'd hate to be tormented by restless ghost who were insulted by where they were interred. Though my people prefer one who has died be sent onward in a pyre. Might be easier than trying to chop through this frozen ground, no matter where."

Sandow gives a reminder that all the homes have not been searched as yet and that some may have hidden and been spared death or slavery. He strokes the head of his new familiar and thanks her for interpreting the gnoll's words. "I'll poke around the homes a bit more and take first watch."
"Sarang and I will do a quick circuit round to see if anything approaches," Syr Cynus says. "Some Gnolls did get away and might be bringing reinforcements. Perhaps you might select a defensible building?" The last she addresses to the group as a whole. Once everyone is on track she will leap into Sarang's saddle and the two of them will do one patrol circuit round and about.

Sandow and Shakira find no one in the various buildings on the outskirts of the mine. they do approach an area where they can see the mine entrance in the distance, and sure enough the gnolls have thrown a rough palisade around the entrance. nothing to stop a determined assault from the knights of Cormyr but definitely enough to hold them up for a bit.
Alaric will lay the sword with Vrajitor and will ask Vor if he can mold the earth around it so it won't be taken.
After attending the burial with Herne and Vor, Alaric will go to the house that his servants have prepared for him. He'll spend his time recovering and writing in his journal.
Sandow will take 1st watch as the sun goes down. He's going to make himself a sniper's nest on the roof if there is no 2nd floor and window to the place we chose. [ooc] I'm going to assume since some people posted it that we did a good check fo defensibility of this house? As in getting furniture for a barricade if needed, that food is stowed inside and there is water to put out fire if the house is set ablaze? If these things were not seen to, Sandow will suggest these things be done..
Belthran softly weaves an enthralling tale of pirates, sea monsters and mermaids set in a lost, sunken city far beneath the waves.
Can we have a short rest to regain with hit dice, and "convert" it into a long rest if we aren't disturbed? If so, Belthran will use his Song of Rest ability and expend some of his own hit dice:
Song of Rest. If you or any friendly creatures who can hear your performance regain hit points at the end of the short rest by spending one or more Hit Dice, each of those creatures regains an extra 1d6 hit points.
Looking at the other buildings nearby, Syr Cygnus will choose the tallest and telling the others, “We will watch from up there, Sarang is a bit too large to be inside.”
Springing onto Sarang, the two will fly up onto the roof and hunker down, keeping watch.

Syr Cygnus will stay atop the building nearest the one the party is resting in. She will rest, but be keeping an eye out. “Sarang, go get something to eat, and don’t eat Belthran’s horse or any horse for that matter. Also, keep an eye out for anything sneaky, up to no good.” This, in essence, is what Syr Cygnus will convey to Sarang. She’ll have her javelins handy in case anything nasty and up to no good comes sneaking around.

It is now 7:15PM in the evening. Sarang has returned from her hunt and brought Syr a heavy haunch of venison.
Belthran has not returned from his excursion at 4:PM.
At 7:25 a horn sounds twice in the distance.
