Voyage looks doubtful. "Do we have a way to get through the webbing? And are we sure there are not a number of giant spiders waiting to digest us down there? Surely the drow have a way they come and go that doesn't involving jumping for dear life. I'd rather die fighting than die a greasy smear on a rock or wrapped up in sticky webbing waiting to be brunch for a spider."
Syvis smirks, "The problem with the corridors the drow traverse is that the drow traverse them. Our liberator, for all that he is, has been honest and forthright with us thus far and I prefer the chances of a group this size (especially now armed and again able to use magics) finding its way out of a spider's web more than making it through a small army of trained enemy combatants...and possibly demons."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Now only slightly more concerned than before (but hiding it well behind her ever-blank expression), Syvis pokes her head back out and takes a closer look at the webs below. Can she see any of the giant spiders or anything caught in the webs?
Not sure which you'd prefer for a long, hard look, but: Perception:6 Investigation:20
Voyage: With your knowledge of Velkynvelve, you would know that there is a lift deeper into the outpost that can transport people down to the pool. However, whenever you have seen it in action, it requires the strength of 2 quaggoths to operate.

Sensing Voyage's reluctance, Syvis says, "It seems we have the choice of evading (or facing) two priestesses of Lolth, 17 other drow including the one who set us free, a dozen quaggoth (present company excluded, of course, highness)," she nods to Prince Derendil, "the possibility of demons, and the giant spiders to reach a lift that we might be able to operate," she gazes back down at the webs below, "or of taking our chances following the instructions of the one who freed us as it seems that the spiders are still occupied by the recent distraction provided by said liberator."
Looking back up and meeting the tiefling's gaze, "I'm painfully aware that my chances for survival are considerably greater staying with this group regardless of the direction we go from here. Time is of the essence so I'll let you all decide the course of action you find most desirable while we few retrieve what's needed. When you see us emerge, wave to direct us to either follow you or jump to the webs below," and Syvis motions for the others to follow her as she sets off across the bridge.
Nicholas peers over the edge and at the webbing for a moment, then looking to Voyage and Syvis he suggests, "How about climbing down instead of jumping into those webs? We have rope and spikes. Secure the rope and make our way down then cut our way through the webs. That way we can avoid having to test the strength of the webs and not get stuck in them too."

"I agree, jumping into the webs seems to be our best option. We may wish to spread around a few torches from our bounty, just in case they are needed once we get below," Cailean says in agreement, frowning thoughtfully down at the webs. "Whatever path we choose, we must choose quickly. Time is not on our side."
While the stealth team goes on their mission, Cailean will help pass out torches to any who want them in case they need to burn away webs once the group jumps below.

Voyage will nod curtly at the consensus around jumping into the webs. As Thodek leaves, she will whisper to him "Keep an eye out for anything we can use to hold water. That pool, if we make it there, may be our only source of water for awhile."
She will keep her eyes glued to the webs below looking for any signs of movement -- be it Drow, spider or Demon -- and weaknesses or a path through the webs for escape.

(Oof, but I guess better a bad perception roll than a bad stealth roll)

So, our sneaky group includes Syvis, Thodek, Nicholas, Eldeth, Jimjar, and the twins.
You are all able to successfully make the dash across the bridge, Thodek reaching the destinations just second before two drow turn the corner.
You 7 come into a small circular room with a covered by dark silken mats with a pale web-strand pattern woven through them in silvery thread. In the middle of the chamber stands a broad pedestal, with a 10-foot-high sculpted spider at its head. In the back of the room you see a crude set of stairs leading downwards.
Anyone who wishes to investigate this room further, please make a perception check.

Syvis comes to a halt at the front of the group and whispers, "One thing I've learned in my varied travels is to never trust a decorative rug. They can obfuscate, ambush (believe it or not), or worse...stain."
She quickly scans the room and then takes a closer look at the rugs, making sure they're safe to walk on or check under.
