The remaining adventurers start to make their way through the crowds on the way to the tavern. They pass several townsmen running to the spectacle in the town center, but the crowds continue to dwindle the further they get from the event. Passing by the local market, they see that customers are sparse to non-existent as shopkeepers look bored or indifferent. After a few minutes of walking along the docks, they reach the Wet Trout at the end of town. Lac Dinneshere lines the shore just to the north of the tavern. The party does not hear much activity from the tavern this early in the morning either, but enter in hopes for a warm meal.
The Wet Trout, located near the docks, is the largest and loudest tavern in Easthaven, known for its ribald atmosphere and rumor-mongering. A great chimney squarely in the building's center has hearths on either side to warm the tavern's two common rooms. The tavern's current owner and proprietor is Nymetra Myskyn, a dragonborn of white dragon ancestry.
Roc enters the establishment, seeing only one other patron. Lumen would recognize this man as Scython, one of the tavern's regular patrons who owns a small house a few blocks away. A generally good-natured fellow, he operates the Easthaven ferry.
a23 takes a seat at the bar, his musings summoning the owner of the establishment. A mean-faced dragonborn enters, her chef's hat and apron not matching her warrior's demeanor. "Customers at this hour? Despite the spectacle happening outside?" Nymetra hands out some menus. "A temporary solace in Auril's test of the Ten-Towns' mettle. Simply another sacrifice to appease the Frostmaiden until the next blizzard comes!" she says, grinning.
a23 looks at the menu and sees:
Garlic Butter Knucklehead
Baked Knucklehead with Lemon Cream Sauce
Poached Knucklehead with Spinach in Chili
Pan-Seared Knucklehead in White Wine Tomato basil sauce
"Lumen!" Scytheon exclaims with a toothy smile. "Good, good! ...Well, considering the circumstances anyways!" As Lumen approaches and sits near Scytheon, the ferry-operator lowers his voice. "The trout is as good as always, but don't expect the portions to be as big as usual..." he whispers, before checking to make sure Nymetra is still in the kitchen. "Rumors are, the chef's 'special' deliveries were disrupted recently. Some of the fishermen haven't been back..."
...
Nymetra arrives back with the orders. The smell is intoxicating and the dishes look exquisite. While not obvious to an outsider, Lumen notices that the portions of meat are indeed noticeably smaller than usual.
Lumen lowers his voice. " Oh no, like we needed more problems in this town. Tell you what, I found a pretty handy group of people. I'll talk to him and see if anything can be done about it."
After a bit more small talk, he pats Scytheon on the back and wishes him well and returns to the others. " I think I may have found us something else to do."
Errona opens up the door to the tavern and sees the group sitting down eating and enjoying their meal. She quickly rushes to the table and says "Well, I am glad to see we are staying productive..." She looks around the table and looks at a23 and says "That is a nice hat though. Well sorry to interrupt the relaxing time but I want to make some quick coin and I am not sure if they will last much longer. Lumen, you might of remembered Imdra speaking earlier to us at the mage crisping party. I followed up on her hints and tracked down the cave where four fishermen had gone missing. I had a bad feeling about the caves and so I took the opportunity to sneak in and scout the caves for signs of them. After tracking through an area with a large plump wolf sleeping and some pillars moaning in the wind, I was able to head deeper into the cave where I found some flying harpies and....."
Errona stops her frantic speaking an looks around to the group and says "ARE YOU GUYS EVEN LISTENING? Wait, I drew a map to keep track of myself, maybe this will help follow along.."
Errona reaches into her coat and pulls out a piece a folded piece of paper. She looks over to Roc's dish and throws the plate out of the way towards a23. She then unfolds the paper and places it on the table.
She then continues by saying "Now, after I was able to slip by the harpies I made it to the very back of the cave when I noticed a horrible sight. I am not sure if was a sea hag or what, but I could see at least one sailor still alive, but there was blood.... like lots of blood....."
Errona takes out a dagger and pricks the end of her finger. A drop of blood slowly forms and then drops onto the map.
Errona continues "Something like that. Under normal circumstances I would try to save him, but with the harpies and everything I need someone else to, you know, take a smack or two while I get the work done." Errona looks up and says "Roc there is where your face comes in... I need you to distract these guys for me. I am sure you understand."
Errona reaches over to Roc's plate and grabs the garlic butter knucklehead and takes a big bite. As she continues to chew she says "I mean..." She then pauses for a second and takes out a tiny fish bone from her mouth and throws it to the side. "I guess we can all go and get this done, but I don't think we got much time. That hag was stirring that pot and I think that sailor was next up on the fisherman stew..."
”I am surprised that you have chosen to explore this cave without the aid of your companions only to leave this mans fate in the hands of a beast...but you have proven yourself an exquisite cartographer. consider me impressed.”
a23 tips his hat to eronna and returns to smashing fish onto his face until they are ready to depart

Scytheon is taken aback by the sudden commotion as Errona enters the tavern in haste. He attempts to glance at the map she produces from afar, but is not able to make out anything.
The party finishes what they can off of their plates, before rushing out after Errona as she leads them to the nearby Dinneshere caves.
...
Making their way through the cavern, they notice that water that had been flowing inside has all been frozen by Auril's curse. The path of ice continues to the south, but directly in front of the adventurers are three tunnels.

Errona tells the group "Let's head up on the frozen path into the cave. I am going to sneak ahead and try and wait to ambush the harpies as you lure them out here. If I remember correctly they were not too far into the cave. Maybe you guys can make a distraction and the sound can lure them out... I'll leave the details to you guys."
Errona then quickly turns around and tries to stealthily sneak into the cave and find an ambush point.
Errona stealths ahead of the party, into the caves. Upon reaching a cliff, which Errona recognizes as a 10-foor tall waterfall frozen to ice, the two harpies are spotted flying above close to the ceiling. The height of the cave is around 50 ft.
While Lumen continues to talk, Errona slowly slips into the crowd and attempts to blend in and go unnoticed into hiding...

Roc turns to the others.
”Well I am looking forward to brunch. I believe we will leave with much more than just our stomachs full.”

”Oh my feel that heat! Let’s get a table close to one of the the hearths... Unless of course, someone is waiting for us.”
Roc looks to see if he recognizes anyone from the previous night.

Roc walks over and peeks over A23’s shoulder.
”I like to keep it easy. I believe I’ll have the Garlic Butter Knucklehead.”
" Scytheon, Hello! " Lumen says waving to the man as they enter the tavern.
" I am glad to see you survived the night. "
Lumen sits down a looks at the menu and orders the Garlic Butter Knucklehead before going to talk to Scytheon.
" How have you been, it has been a while? "
"Lumen!" Scytheon exclaims with a toothy smile. "Good, good! ...Well, considering the circumstances anyways!" As Lumen approaches and sits near Scytheon, the ferry-operator lowers his voice. Roc is startled by Errona’s appearance and map.
”Well I was wondering where you had gotten off too.”
Roc shakes his head.
”Sneaking by harpies. Mighty dangerous thing to do without back up but I’m glad you did.”
Roc takes a few big bites of trout.
”Well if this hags about to cook the man I guess we should get a move on. There will be time to eat later.
" It just so happens I was just about to propose tracking down those missing fishermen, good initiative Errona. I'm very impressed. Lets go."
Lumen quickly picks up his things and settles the bill.
