Lumen stays with the cauldron looking over it and experimenting with adding bits of food to it to see if anything happens. " Anyone have an identify scroll available somewhere?"
Lumen tinkers with the cauldron, using his background of the arcana and experimentation to understand its properties. Upon adding water to the pot, a hearty stew magically appears within.
Cauldron of Plenty
Wondrous item, rare 50 lb. This cauldron is made of thick copper that has turned green with age. It is 4 feet wide, has a mouth 3½ feet in diameter, weighs 50 pounds, and can hold up to 30 gallons of liquid. Embossed on its bulging sides are images of satyrs and nymphs in repose, holding ladles. The cauldron comes with a lid and has side handles. It sits on five little clawed feet that keep it from tipping.
If water is poured into the cauldron and stirred for 1 minute, it transforms into a hearty, hot stew, which can provide one nourishing meal for up to four people per gallon. The stew remains hot while in the cauldron, then cools naturally after it is removed. The outside of the cauldron remains safe to touch despite the heat of the stew.
The cauldron can create stew three times. It then ceases to function until the next dawn, when it regains all its uses.

The guards in the room are transfixed by this happening. They begin to whisper among themselves.
”Well I can’t think of a way this could be used for evil. Besides selling the meals from it to those hungry. I think everything is order to exchange for the gold.”
“the sensation of taste is an abstract concept lost on someone of my design. however. i have a vast database capable of identifying and analyzing a plethora of flavors. I recommend roasted owlbear rump if you are given the opportunity.”

Upon reaching the White Lady Inn, the adventurers find a shaken Bartaban. Looking up at the party, he says: "Ah...hello, friends of Lumen. Y-y-you're welcome to spend the night if you'd like." He shifts his eyes before returning eye contact. "Ah... no use to try to fool anyone. Just b-be careful. I been hearing footsteps on the second floor even when the place is vacant. And some woman's voice that I never heard around here before..." He shakes his head. "Rinaldo said something about the White Lady coming back to haunt the place."
...
Reaching the second floor, the White Lady descents from the roof and hovers in front of the group. "You're returned." she comments, her voice elegant but ghastly. "Do you bring news?"
”we are here to inform you that your husbands quest has been successfully completed. the cauldron was recovered and will be used to feed the people of eastheaven.
"Is that so?" the White Lady replies. "I've come to realize that my husband must have long passed. So many things have changed in town. And after all, I am..." She hovers to the window, placing her ghastly hand on the glass. "Perhaps I can now rest knowing that my people will be served. Thank you."
The White Lady sheds a tear, before appearing to dissipate. The tear drop falls to the ground, revealing:
Pearl of Power Wondrous Item, uncommon (requires attunement by a Spellcaster) While this pearl is on your person, you can use an action to speak its command word and regain one expended spell slot. If the expended slot was of 4th level or higher, the new slot is 3rd level. Once you use the pearl, it can't be used again until the next dawn.

The party decides to rest in the inn. Errona rests four hours before awaking to a23's charging status.
In the dark hours of the morning, steps are heard in the streets.
Lumen picks the tear up off the ground. " It is good to put a spirit to rest. Perhaps we can put some of that new coin to use. We are still being hunted by an angry ice goddess as far as I know."
“We get gold and people get good.”, sounds like a win-win Roc says as he raises his hands.
“it appears we are in the midst of what you call a ‘win win’ scenario. i detect no logical reason not to proceed with the transaction”
"We are in agreement then? I won't be able to get the payment to you until the morning." Danneth says.
Four guards walk in. "These men will watch over the cauldron until then."
It is getting later into the night. The moon peers through the clouds. What will the party do?

Roc whistles.
”By the stars.... It’s true.”
Roc looks around.
”Well I can’t think of a way this could be used for evil. Besides selling the meals from it to those hungry. I think everything is order to exchange for the gold.”
" It seems the legends may have been true, yes. I am glad we were able to bring this boon to Easthaven."
a23 dips his mechanical finger into the cauldron and samples the stew.
”acceptable. however, it has a lingering aftertaste of human.”
" It should certainly be washed thoroughly... a23, how do you know what that tastes like? Can you taste? "

a23 makes his way to the door.
”if she leaves this world peacefully, perhaps the establishment will offer us a room for our troubles”

Roc and Lumen are fast asleep.
Errona will use the 4 hours of rest to spend tinkering with her poison kit.

Roc snores and coughs in his sleep.
“footsteps?”
