The flapping of wings can be heard, and Talion's bloody hair moves a little as caught by a breeze as he moves forward.
(( Assuming Erven shares what he knows: )) "Huh, so not a vampire then? Robbed again."
Osgar is now on Talion's shoulder; I am working on the assumption we have a door to go through into a darkened place (which won't be a problem for either of them). Talion is not in the lead and will remain to the rear, unless otherwise stated.
Onyx frowns, shaking his head. "I will not, and there are 5 of you who can handle this task. I will wait here, but before you go allow me." Onyx pulls out a few items from his component pouch and begins to recite a prayer. When he is finished, he walks up to Erven and gently touches his chest. Erven, Onyx has cast protection from evil and good on you.
Onyx then moves over to the door in the other room and looking at you, nods. "Good luck, may Lathander protect you." He clicks the key into place and withdraws the chain. He leaves the door shut and backs up...
Everlie places his hand on the door handle and pauses to look at everyone on the eye to see if they are ready or not. Once everyone is he nods his head and quietly says “on the count of three…”
He listens for a moment to see if there is noise beyond the door then turns his head to the others again. “One” he doesn’t say, but soundlessly exaggerates the motions of saying… “Two” again goes unspoken, just the lips forming the word… “Three” he does say, quickly and sharply, his hand turning the door handle even as he starts throwing his weight into the door…
Erven moves down the stairs quietly, in front after Everlie opens the door, trying to locate the creature and assess the situation. He has darkvision to 90 feet and he stays in the dark. Due to his umbral vision, he is invisible to any creature relying on darkvision for sight/perception. He looks for signs of the vampire spawn.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The door creaks open under your pushing. A waft of decay swirls up into the room and you see a set of stone stairs leading downwards, towards an earthen floor. The temperature is chilly and cold down here. Everlie, as you're in the lead, you don't see anything in the complete darkness but you're able to get to the bottom of the stairs without issue. Erven, you see random assortment of bones on the ground. You all hear high pitched sobbing and light laughter echoing off the walls, and the silence is broken by a loud wail, "Fatherrrrr! Is that you? I smell blood! I don't know if I....Fatherrrrrr!"
Right now, it's Everlie first, Erven second....and I'm not sure about everyone else. You don't see Doru anywhere yet....
Erven taps Everlie on the shoulder and takes the lead, as he has superior perception in the dark and he stays in the dark, looking for Doru, signs of movement.
Talion remains at the back, resting a hand on the wall to steady himself. A slight draft and the sound of beating wings can be heard in the stairwell.
"Go down there and have a quick look, don't go near anything -- especially the son -- and then come back" he says to Osgar. Closing his eyes, he observes through the familiar's senses.
Down the stairs until he sees the son, then glance around and head back up. Osgar remains invisible. Talion links senses until Osgar returns.
Bertolt will hold back as the others begin to enter the room, readying his rapier while keeping his other hand near his lute incase he decides to call upon his magic.
Everlie allows Erven to take the lead. Truthfully the Elf hadn't looked like he should be taking the lead but if he couldn't handle it then it was his funeral... And then again, Everlie has just met these people so they could have some tricks up their sleeves.
Everlie squints against the darkness, trying to make out shapes if nothing else. But he also listens... If this son of a preacher man wants to talk then that'll give Everlie a direction to head in. Great Sword in one hand, Everlie keeps the other in front of him, feeling the darkness, ready to grab and grapple anything that squirms in the darkness.
Erven taps Everlie on the shoulder and takes the lead, as he has superior perception in the dark and he stays in the dark, looking for Doru, signs of movement.

Erven roll again please. You're in total darkness down here.
*anyone else who'd like to make a perception check to see if they can see anything weird, feel free to do so. Those with darkvision have disadvantage on the roll.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sho lets Erven go ahead. He stays up the stairs the others, leaving enough distance between them. He casts light on his circlet, lighting up the darkness around him. He looks down the bones on the ground with some disgust, and stays behind to wait for their scouting.

Up on the stairs, you don't see much. The cobwebs on the ceiling are thick. You notice shriveled up roots and dry bones littering the floor below. Columns are supporting the ceiling at regular intervals.
Curiously, as Erven descends the stairs, he is enveloped by darkness and everyone (other than Talion) can no longer see him. However, as Sho lights his circlet (20 foot radius), most of you are able to see him again.
You don't see Doru anywhere but stiffen when you hear a hissing voice, full of pain. "No, not father are you? I smell your blood! Ahhhh!" There is a loud, plaintive scream of agony. "What are you doing down here? Where is my father? What do you want?" The voice seems to be coming from the western side of the room, to the north. "Do not come closer."
MAP for reference. Those rolling 18 or more would have located Doru's general location to be the northwestern corner of the room, but none have seen him so far.
When Osgar returns, Talion opens his eyes and looks around.

"C'mon, show yourself." He calls out.
"Hmm, I think not, not yet at least. I smell violence on you - what have you done to father? Where is he? What are you doing here?" Doru asks again, this time with a hint of hysteria or madness in his voice...
Talion, the darkness doesn't bother you, of course - for you it is effectively not there. But you cannot seem to specifically place Doru. He must be hiding somewhere...
Talion scans the roof nearby to make sure Doru is not hiding in the rafters above them, then tilts his head to a different angle, waiting for another sound, trying to locate it. Keep talking, we'll find you. "You father was attacked by the same one who attacked us. A friend of yours, no doubt."

”Well, should we go ahead and handle this? Onyx we could probably use your help with this task. Let’s try to drag this creature up into the light.”
