(OOC: If there are spare tools... And you can carry them, I don't see why it would be a bad idea to just nab them...)
Sniv looks back to Komos and relays the absence of sound from the other side of the door before asking, "Do you think that we should try the door?" Checking the handle Sniv gently presses down to see if the door is locked.

The door does appear to be locked. However, just like how there was a key tucked away in a shelf of the tavern, maybe there is a key somewhere in this room. (Perception or Investigation to look for a key)
Also Sniv Komos, if you try to take the tools, you can but I need you to roll me a Perception check. No you may not be Helped or have Guidance cast on you for this perception check because it is a sudden/spontaneous thing.
While Komos searches for the key, Sniv pokes his head out and calls to Varn, "The fog is too thick to try and go anywhere. We would be running blind, so we are doing a little digging to see if we might be able to figure out how to turn it off."

"Turn off the fog? Don't be ridiculous. Besides, the way out of the city isn't fogged, at least. If you can't find a way to turn it off, I'm waiting out here." Varn sits by the dogs and begins to pet them, waiting for the others to come back.
Komos takes the tools from the shelves. You are free to add any number of artisan's tools of any quantity to your character sheet. You may not add tools if they cause you to go over encumbrance. You may not add these tools to your sheet (as the blacksmith's shop doesn't have these particular tools): Cartographer's Tools, Glass Blower's Tools, Alchemist's Tools, Navigator's Tools, Potter's Tools, Thieve's Tools. Komos does not notice anything weird about the tools. They look normal to him. He also searches the place and finds a bunch of keys in a ring. He finds the Blacksmith's House Keys which opens the locked door.
Sniv pokes his head back out of the shop, "We might as well see what we can find around here before we head out. It looks like the place is entirely abandoned but they left a lot of things here. Who knows... We might find something valuable." Seeing Komos with the key, Sniv points back to the door in the blacksmith's shop and says, "Might as well start with that door... Whaddya say?"

“Ah of course!”Komos says. “There are so many keys around I didn’t even think to check the doors.”He then walks back in and tries the various keys on the doors inside the shop.
There was only one door so far but it does open with the key. Inside, there is a small Reverse T-shaped passage. On the left is a set of stairs going up. On the right is another set. Straight down the middle is a door which had a small window cut on it. The window has been smashed through.
“Oh a window!”Komos says, walking straight and going forward to that door. He then also goes through the keys to see if any open this door (assuming it’s locked).
((Am I standing on glass or is it broken to the outside?))
Komos walks forward. There doesn't seem to be any glass on this side of the door. The door was indeed locked but one of the keys in the chain opened it up. The door leads to a small dining room of sorts. There is a kitchen to the right side of this room while the rest of the room is furnished with cabinets and utensil drawers. There is a flimsy cheap wooden table and equally cheap wooden chairs arranged around it. There is broken glass on the floor of this room. This says that the window was in did broken from the inside towards the dining room. The table seems to seat 2 people. Though one of the chairs is a stool while the other chair is a proper chair. There are some unwashed plates and pots on the kitchen counter top. Speaking of the Kitchen, there are two windows on the two walls of the kitchen, one on the right wall of the room and another on the front wall. Straight ahead from the door you just opened is another door that is on the front wall, this one does not have any window on it. You can deduce that this door leads outside to the blacksmith's yard. Light filters in to the room from the windows.
Sniv follows Komos through the first door, but while Komos explores further downstairs and into the dining room, Sniv heads up the stairs to the left. Poking his head up from the stairway he takes a look around to see what's on the next floor.

The left side of the stairs leads to a short hallway with two doors on the left. The doors are not very strong and made of cheap wood. The floorboards creak as Sniv walks on them. There is a glass window on the right, overlooking the Blacksmith's lawn. Sniv would have been able to get a good view of the place if it wasn't for the fog blocking everything further than 60ft. The doors themselves are locked.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sniv looks out the window on the right into the blacksmith's lawn. He glances around looking for anything out of the ordinary or anything valuable that might be sitting on the lawn.
Seeing nothing, Sniv calls down to Komos who is still in the kitchen, "Hey! If there isn't anything interesting down there, there are a couple more doors up here. Wanna see if any of your keys open these ones?"

Yelling back up to his friend, Komos says, “There is a kitchen down here! And maybe a way out! I think someone broke the windows!”Then standing on his toes to peer through the window yells through, though switches to Common,“Hello!? Anyone here?” If there is no answer he’ll head up to meet his friend for now, though will likely want to check back later.
((Minor correction. When I said the window was broken I meant the window that was on the door; the one you were trying to figure out which way ti was broken from. The bigger windows in the kitchen are fine and not broken))
Looking outside, Komos does not see anything besides the lawn. Though the mist obscures a lot of it, on the edge of his vision from this angle, he sees the silhouette of the blacksmith's forge room out in the lawn. Opening the window he yells out but he is met only with silence and the howling of winds. No response.

Sniv listens to the door for sounds however, he can't hear anything from the other side.

"Hey!" Varn calls from outside where he stayed to keep watch. "Are you coming? I thought we were leaving. Did you find something interesting maybe?"
