Not seeing the individuals they are after, Abigail winces from the cut on her side, but continues to quickly check the rest of the hall for other doors that might aid her in her search for these troublesome poor people.
If there is nothing else of interest on this hall, she will move toward Spoke E and Message Tarak, "There is nothing down here, let me know if you find anything down there... I am heading to the next one. I hope Lafetha and ZZ are holding their own...."
Summary: Tarak and Abigail continue their search, both heading back to (Zone 3) as they converse about where to head to next. Glancing back down the hallway the others are at; they notice the Golem stop spinning. It instead rolling back into a ball and heading after ZZ and Lafetha.
While Lafetha and ZZ attempt to melee the three; they so far do not find any hits that land. But, they're able to hold back the three.
Round 9 (Begin)
Zones: Zone 3: The Staircase that leads up / down Zone 2(A): The hallway between Zone 1(A): The room with the eye
5 other spokes exist (B - explored by Tarak, C - glanced through with Abigail, D, E)
Situation: Tarak and Abigail are by the stairs, able to convey their notes about what they saw. Glancing down, they see the duo fighting off two guards and now the golem having rolled into the room.
Zone 1(A): ZZ, Lafetha, the 3 guards. and the Golem Ball Zone 2(A): The Hallway Leading To.... Zone 3: The Staircase leading up and down; Abigail and Tarak
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
ZZ decides that now is not a good time to be around the golem with her and Haku. She turns to Lafetha and yells, "It's time!" And she makes a run and a leap past the golem.
If she makes it to the other side she is going to run for the stairs. If she doesn't and gets injured ZZ will reach out to touch the Golem and use the spell Heat Metal Attack12Damage12
Summary: Both ZZ and Lafetha bolt towards the others. Tarak takes out a quick shot and lets loose two arrows, but both miss their mark. The golem rolls back to the room with the stairs; once again unfurling.
The three guards move up to the hallway; pulling out crossbows and firing back at the crew. Bolts going wide; not striking their targets.
Round 10 (Begin)
Zones: Zone 3: The Staircase that leads up / down Zone 2(A): The hallway between Zone 1(A): The room with the eye
5 other spokes exist (B - explored by Tarak, C - glanced through with Abigail, D, E)
Situation: Tarak, Abigail, ZZ, and Lafetha are all around the Staircase; now with the Golem, who is ready to strike. The three guards stay in the hallway, reading crossbows.
Zone 3: Golem, Abigail, Lafetha, ZZ, Tarak Zone 2(A): The hallway between....
Abigail looks around, then peers down the stairs. "Well, we are really in this now, so... let us see how far this facility goes... Like ZZ mentioned, maybe we will get lucky and find those vents... or even our missing persons. Hopefully, both." Abigail hurries down the stairs.
ZZ nods her head in agreement and internally worries about these prisoners...so she follows Abigail down the stairs hoping to find what they came here for.
Tarak tells them they should go up the stairs and then seeing them head down he groans “you guys are going to get us all killed” then he follows them down.
The Crew of the Maiden head down the staircase; running down the staircase while the golem takes a swing with it's massive blades. Jabbing down after them a bit until they're out of reach. The sounds of footsteps and people calling for an engineer can be heard as they descent; beginning to work at fixing what Tarak's blade did to the gears.
Down below is dark. The small gas wall lanterns set to low, creating more shadows on the carved stone walls. Exposed sealing has pipes running every which way through the floors and up to the rooms above. A fairly loud roar of fire and machinery billows from the hall; drowning out your own footsteps and whatever - or whoever - may be down here. A gearbox sits on the wall at the end of the steps; likely part of the control mechanism for the stairwell. Sabotaging it could assist in slowing down anyone from upstairs; but also cut off needed escape routes.
Hovering above the floor is thin fog of green miasma. It seeping into the boots and clothing of the crew; irritating their skin with the slightest of burning - except for Tarak - giving away that it's some kind of poisonous cloud as far as the eyes can see.
The chamber itself is just a tad bit smaller than the one above it; the room itself the connection point for 3 corridors in a Y pattern (Corridor G / H / I). It's not possible to see down any of them from where you are; turning to darkness and then making a bend around the corner. ((Remember scouting slows down gameplay so go as a group))
The crew maneuvers through the tunnel. A small few bends seeming to bring them to a large room; Abigail ZZ and Lafetha's darkvision taking over as the greyscale comes to life. Large machines sit in the middle pumping and sending various liquids and from large tubes up and down from the building. The machine itself is deafening loud. Swirls of mist flow from the floor and into the machines; seeming to be pumped up and out.
You don't feel like you're alone down here, but the room itself is bigger than what your darkvision can bring to see.
Before following the rest down the hallway ZZ turns to the mechanism at the bottom of the stairs, she opens the fuse box and with her knife, cuts some of the wires.
She follows the group down the hallway and when entering the room is cautious and starts to move forward along the wall. Haku vigilant as ever on her shoulder. She grips her hammer in one hand just in case.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Laftetha slowly moves down the hallway with Abigail and ZZ. She moves towards the machines and tries to see if she can tell what liquids are being pumped throughout, and if they are dangerous investigation9
Tarak looks around the room. “Whatever is down here feeding these machines is not something we will enjoy meeting I fear.”
Tarak uses Divine Sense
(The presence of strong evil registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity (the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, for instance). Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the hallow spell.)
Tarak leaves the room and moves back into the stair chamber and then down to door D.
After hammering down on the pipe, ZZ then turns to one of Lafethas attackers and aims to incapacitate him in the meantime with her hammer.
