As the guides talk about Arakocra, and Naga, Phillip will get very excited. “I hadn’t even thought we might meet allies in the jungle!!! Nope nope nope!.... We should seek allies out wherever we can! Uh huh!... Even when it takes us out of our way. Mmm-hmmm. Yep!”.
”They could provide help, advice, supplies, aid!!... Yup! We might need all the help we can get to complete our quest! Oh yes! Uh huh...”.
Phillip would LOVE to swim with Gait’ur (lol). OMG he would have a whale of a time! They could race and forage and hunt. He’d be in heaven!
He would ask Gotur very seriously if he can become Grung shaped... and be very interested in the answer. And he won’t be too sad if he can’t, it would have just been cool.
"I don't think so. The closest I might be able to get is one of those small frogs, or a really big one. Can't really do thinking creatures. Maybe I'll do a big frog tomorrow? I really want to try out a dinosaur too. But I try not to waste it, if we get in a fight, it can come in handy!"
Philip could flush fish and other food his direction to snap up and toss on the bank for the others to dispatch for dinner.
"Should we try a cook fire in the dome tonight? Might be tight quarters, but would be handy to know if it'll work before we need it to."

Phillip suddenly remembers something, bashing his palm against his head, “I almost fffffffff-P’orgot!!..... I have these! One each!! Uh huh, uh huh, yep yep yep!....”. With that, he hands out a signal whistle to everyone. “They can be heard over great distances! Uh huh.... iffffff... we get separated! Uh huh, uh huh!... or a secret code? A sound only we know? Hmmmmm? Uh huh?....”. He looks hopeful as he passes them around, with a bashful smile.
Alton would try to stay out of the water as much as possible. He might dip a toe or two in, but for the boat part stays on dry ground or in the boat.
He seems excited about the idea of roasted fish (doesn’t even have to really be in the dome. We could start a fire outside of it and brings stuff in once it is cooked.) His family was never affluent enough to afford good seafood, so Alton would enjoy having some exotic Chultan fish/cuisine.
Alton also takes the signal whistle from Philip and thanks him with a smile. He then spends the next few minutes trying it out and making a couple sounds (he would be happy to form a sort of code to communicate)
"Never thrown a snail, but aye imagine aye could get one pretty far. It seems like it might be a disorienting way to travel and not really much like flying. Aye can yell whatever ye like when aye toss ye though!"
He decides that he, and Gotur, probably have sat too long in the sun. Good thing Evo has a hat though!
"Congratulations Phillip!"
On Phillip's going beyond his old record distance from town.
He doesn't join in the swim, takes the whistle and agrees the long and short whistling is a good idea but asks to the guides,
"How much unwanted attention is this going to attract if aye blow it?"
Then to everyone,
"Ye are all welcome to try cooking fish in the hut but like aye said, summoning it is usually the last thing aye do every night. If aye leave the hut it'll disappear. Aye can make one a bit earlier for ye to test yer cooking in and then another later when aye head to bed aye guess?"
If they want that he does so. He will again say a silent prayer to Selune, oriented to the moon if he can see it, before calling it a night.
((hahahaha, pleasure to read all of this! Thanks for all of the RP you all are putting into this. The swimming was uninterrupted with no dangers. Flute performance was mediocre! I have noted the watch schedule for the evenings and nights when it's needed and will confirm when required))
Azaka says in the morning "I am quite pleased with our progress. However, and I know Eku can vouch for this as well, I must say I've never seen the jungle this quiet. Especially with 40 miles of travel under our belts. Something seems off. We shall take great care today."
She will suggest the party returns to a normal pace today. Eku agrees.

(Look at that, it's 3 more encounter rolls, and 3 more fails! 0/7 now, with a 25% chance of an encounter each roll. Ok, I let the cat out of the bag, haha.)
"Quiet in terms of wildlife? A big predator can send smaller creatures into hiding, though I'd wager a horde of undead would have a similar effect. Steady pace it is, no need to rush into unknown peril."
((If you were wondering 'what are the odds!?', there's a 13.35% chance to not get an encounter on a string of 7 checks where there's a 25% chance each check.))
"Yeah. I've seen tourists loose their heads on the first day, and we've heard nothing but the normal harmless creatures so far. Not that I'm complaining or anything. Should allow us to be at our best upon our arrival to Firefinger."
((oh man, 13.35%... that's not even that bad! Maybe I should be quiet until we hit a longer streak, hahaha!))
Ok, no one is dehydrated either!
I have moved the marker 2 more squares which you were able to travel on day 3 at a normal pace. Chult map is updated.
Queue evening activities. I have added the nightly watch to the Chult tab, this is what we will use should an encounter ever happen at night.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Ok, something will go down here in the morning of day 4. I will post this as soon as I can today or tomorrow at the very latest. Feel free to RP until then if you want.
Gotur tries out a new form for a nightly swim with Phillip, this time he's a dimetrodon. Feels pretty similar to crocodile, slower in the water, but faster on land.
(Got-metrodon? Dim-Gotur-don?)

Phillip will swim and play with Got-metrodon. Always his best bit of the day! Then he’ll share dinner, and banter, and eventually settle down for the night. This was all getting to be a rather delightful routine for him.
Gotur checks in with Alton during a break. The big druid has taken to life in Chult (so far, since it's been such smooth sailing), but so far their travels haven't intersected much with the halfling's skill sets.

hahaha, I love the Got-metrodon!
Evo, Eku responds "Yes. many many years. And I imagine I will remain here until my divine work is done. The undead have been a problem for many of those years, although what is concerning is the increased volumes of them over the past few years. I fear this is all tied into something bigger. Perhaps it has something to do with this Soulmonger you seek. Perhaps Naga can provide clarity."
Azaka responds: "Yes. Good and evil. The majority are the latter unfortunately. Tigers, wolves, bears... you name it."
Ok, as a refresher for myself - we were on day 4. The morning paddle starts off just like the previous days. You all converse lightly and take in more of the scenery of which is becoming a bit more normal to you all by now. As the canoes round a bend and Eku swoops above, she suddenly comes down in front of the canoes and points out what looks like a light blue mist which is in the middle of the river.
"Best to not travel through that mist. Azaka knows. Will make you crazy. The mad mist we call it."
Eku, Azaka and anyone else with a passive perception of 15 or greater notices the mist. The guides had it covered though and warn you all.
If for some reason your character does take a breathe of the mist by mistake, please roll a CON save.
((I know, that encounter was very anti-climactic for waiting that long - apologies! Also, about the dehydration rolls. I'm taking them out. I've been thinking about it more and it just doesn't make sense with the rules the book gives. There are instances in the game where dehydration comes into effect in better ways and I'm just going to use those instead of daily rolls. Especially given the entire party always has enough water to NOT be dehydrated. With dehydration, the result is 1 point of exhaustion which would be resolved after the camp rest anyhow, so it's redundant as well. Not to worry though, penalties for heavy armor and the heat of the jungle is bound to catch up to you at some point!!))
Ok, nothing else happens on day 4! I have moved the marker down 2 hexes which is how far you made it.
Queue camp setup. Overnight Camping Watches = Alton and Gotur first watch, Eku second, Evo third and Phillip with Azaka last. Let me know if that is correct. The night is uneventful. Also I'm going to start rolling the evening/overnight encounter roll separately from the morning/afternoon ones going forward.
Day 5 -> at the end of this day, if you continue to travel at a normal pace you will arrive at Firefinger after the day of travel, around 6pm. I will roll for the morning and afternoon encounters, and if there happens to be one, depending on what it is the party can then decide if they want to stop where they are to rest and/or wait until the next day to get to Firefinger. Incase the party is injured etc.
Or, if there are no encounters the party will arrive at Firefinger around 6pm. This is going to be a larger post once we get there to 'set the scene' so you can plan the approach.
Let's see what we get though first.
1. South
2. Normal speed
3. No navigator
4. Morning 434 / Afternoon 519
5. We are not rolling for 'daily' dehydration anymore.
