Whenever you finish a short or long rest, you can touch one weapon, and then count that weapon as a monk weapon until you use this feature again. The weapon must be a simple or martial weapon that you are proficient with, and must lack the heavy and special properties.
Every morning you can pick one non-monk weapon you are proficient with that is neither heavy nor special and turn it into a monk weapon for yourself.
So, say for example you were proficient with whips, either because you multiclassed, or because you took the Weapon Master feat, you could turn one specific whip into a monk weapon for yourself. Or, since monks are proficient with shortbows, you could turn a specific shortbow into a monk weapon for yourself.
1 non-monk weapon (that you are proficient with and isn't heavy or special) can use martial arts damage dice and dexterity. Pick which 1 weapon after rests.

Can someone please simplify this?
