I used to find work as a grave-digger but found I was more adept at cremations than burials but my chosen vocation changed when I found a mysterious book in one of the crypts and accidentally unleashed something called a Pyre-giest. I Fled town as the Pyre-giest burned everything it came into contact with and vowed to find a way to understand these strange creature and other types of undead. Now I roam the world as a Necromancer trying to find undead and lay them to rest.
*I don't think a Pyre-giest is a thing but I have been thinking about a fire based version of a poltergiest and this prompted the above backstory for a more goodly necormancer wandering around the world.

That poor soul right there is the Raggedy Man, and there's a weary tale of woe and heartache from the wilds of the world.
He used t' be one of the elite in the watch of some town or village out in the boonies, beloved of his comrades, only t' fall afoul a fellow and his brigands, who done stalked him an' his family -- a young wife and child -- while they went on leisure; 'tis said the brigands rode the wife and child down, and that his vengeance was such that for many moons he was called mad, a wild and wary look in his eyes.
He's been wand'rin' about e'er since, and there are tales of 'im and his ways o' helpin' folks agin' the scourge o' them what think they can lord it over the rest, but he will always just go t' show that one day ye can be cock o' the walk, and the next but a feather duster...

I used to travel the world with my home on my back, seeking I knew not what in my journeys. Then one day I saved a lass from a great beastie and was benighted for my efforts, trained in combat, given lands to accompany my title, and even made some few friends during that training. Now my friends and I travel the world seeking honor and glory for my king by slaying the various monsters of this world.
Overheard in a tavern, before the listener can see the speaker:
"I am protected by the power of insignificance; I have mastered this rare and powerful craft. Who else here among you would be able to boldly walk up to a dragon, grovel in fealty and adoration, and become acknowledged, accepted, and ignored in mere moments?"
Not a difficult guess, as to what species the speaker is, but feel free to do so.
After the Shattering, my brother went to find his circle and was killed in a T-Rex attack that scarred me. Since then, I have been wandering the jungles in a fugue state with his journal and totem to feel close to his spirit. After 60 years in the woods, it's time to return to other people and live up to his example.
I was desperate for a cleric, I had gone to the bathroom outside and used the wrong leaves for the job, and I was absolutely desperate. When I finally found a cleric she was beset by some rather unsavory fellows I would have normally avoided contact with altogether, but like I said, I was DESPERATE!! So I jumped into the fray and helped her out of the jam, she thanked me by quietly taking care of my little, um… “dilemma,” and we’ve been best friends and traveling companions ever since.

The chute opened beneath her feet and she fell, seemingly for an eternity, until at last she heard the voice of the Man in Purple saying with a chuckle, "This is quite a predicament. What is it you really want again?"
"I told you, in my song," she said crossly. "I want the world."
"And I can give it to you, child," the Man in Purple replied, from somewhere in the dark. "All you have to do in return is bring me... ingredients."

As a child, I often slipped in and out of other realms without realizing it, ruling among the terrible and strange beasts that dwelled there. Now that I'm grown, they have left their homes to seek me out in my realm. I must use the power of the Wild Rumpus to find out why, and deal with the threat -- both that they pose here, and that they face on their own plane.

I wandered through a town at night, just as one year was about to end and a new start, when many townsfolk began to weep as they forgot their old acquaitances and their memories faded. As the townsfolk wailed and nashed and gathered together in the market square, I climbed aloft and stood upon a statue and sang out a ditty as my hands traced the sign of Auldlange and upon that growing throng the hands of my patron were felt and their memories cleared and became restored and one by one each took up the ditty and sang out as a sign of thanks to Auldlange. Now the new year brings new adventures and places to visit, new memories to make and restore, I'll see you down the road my friends and make the sign of Auldlange once more.

2. Running always came easily for him. Running was easy, freeing. Yet, when it finally became necessary, he couldn't bring his heavy feet to take another step before the world turned to ash.
3. She was never someone who enjoyed the concept of power. In fact, she worked relentlessly to bring down the tyrants in power. But when she opened the book, power was what she was granted, and she embraced it with welcoming arms.

The two things I love most in the whole world are dancing and talking to animals, both real and imaginary. Wait, three things, since I also love checking out the experiments of my brother the artificer, even though they always seem to go boom after I press that shiny button. Now I use my connection to nature, and the chaos that seems to follow in my wake, to ruin the schemes of other, more nefarious folk.

As the greatest swordsman of my province I convinced my Jarl I could slay the local dragon.
I taunted it to leave its lair to come and fight me outside my kingdoms walls as only a weak pathetic coward would refuse a challenge of combat.
I raided its lair while it spent the whole day incinerating the entire kingdom, and I am now wealthy beyond my wildest dreams.
