For Gnomes - Cast Reduce on yourself and then Mage Hand. Your Mage Hand can carry you around anywhere as most Gnomes weigh 40lbs at most and Reduce drops you to 1/8th of your weight.
Disguise Self + Friends - Use Disguise Self first and then Friends. Get out of view of the target before Friends ends and drop Disguise Self.
Command + Find Familiar (Owl) - Command the target to drop their weapon, then have your Owl fly in and take it.
Polymorph + Power Word Kill - Polymorph the target into a creature with less than 100 HP.
For pranksters - Heat Metal and Mage Hand. Cast Heat Metal on the doorknob then Mage Hand to knock on the door.
Prismatic Wall + Reverse Gravity - Cast Prismatic Wall as a sphere in the air. Cast Reverse Gravity (make sure there is nothing in the area to grab onto). The enemies floats up into the sphere going through all 7 layers then out the top for another 7 layers. Drop Reverse Gravity and anything still alive and on the same plane as you goes through all 7 layers again, twice.
Charm + Dimension Door + Slow Fall - Charm your target. Teleport 500 feet into the air and cast Slow Fall on yourself.
How about Plant Growth, and Spike Growth. You could enhance the range of Spike Growth, depending on the dm, and plant growth would make foes move through it super slowly.
For the patient caster: For the cost of two cantrips (Free), some time, and a tree branch. Use Fire Bolt to set a tree branch (Big, still on tree) on fire. Fling ranged attack spells for a few turns while the fire spreads and lure your opponents under the tree. Acid Splash the tree branch and let it fall on said opponents.
For the pyro: Cost of one 3rd level and one 7th level spell and a significant portion of a cave roof. Use Delayed Blast Fireball on a confined area with some people you want dead. DO NOT DETONATE!!! Burn five rounds, and then fling a regular Fireball at the roof. Rocks fall, everyone dies, then blow up the delayed blast, rocks go flying, people blow up and get crushed by rocks some more, everyone dies again.
For the evil psychiatrist (BC why not): A 2nd level spell and two cantrips. Mirror Image, Message, and Minor Illusion. simple, yet complex. Use these three spells to convince someone that they are insane.

Love the idea, but small problem: Fireball does not produce any force, just heat. Inside a flammable structure, absolutely!

Hope you have a lenient DM?
Or set up a boulder trap supported by wood doused in oil.
Chronurgist Wizard with a familiar, Wall of Force, and Sickening Radiance. Use Arcane Abeyance to have your familiar concentrate on Sickening Radiance right after you trap a bunch of monsters inside a Wall of Force. If you wait long enough, they're going to die.

Luckily I play with DMs who love creativity and physics. Golden rule: If you plan, prepare, and have the materials, then possibilities are endless.
Also why Oil flasks from the PHB is one of the most underrated items. 5 extra damage on all fire damage, and it lasts after poured so it's good for traps.

"Armor of Agathys and bladeward (stop 5 hits per spell level, adjacent melee foes hitting you take 5 cold per spell level) So a warlock at at 9th stops 25 hits, blade ward halves all your physical damage. Your unlikely to kill an opponent of your challenge rating like this but if you are hit for three 20 damage attacks, you as a warlock will have taken 5 damage and the opponent will have taken 75 damage, a 'fair' exchange. If a poor victim (cough red dragon) with vulnerability to cold hits you they will of course take double damage and thats 150 damage to them (although only if their is at least one point of damage remaining in the armour for that last attack) *MDNS personal note, Warlocks using their mystic incarnum slots to cast this or bards taking AoA as a magical secret increase the pain this combo can exact. If a mage also uses ray of enfeeblement to lower the potential victims str based attacks by half on top of this then a fire giant for example dealing an average 28 damage twice would deal 14 (RoE) down to 7 bladeward, and need 4 hits to break a 25 hit AoA taking 100 damage in exchange. An 8th level AoA stops /deals 40 damage, at the same level you have access to that a wizard could have unlimited RoE a day."
Responding to the above part of the comment (yes, this is a very old thread, but why not put more fun combos out there): this works for a more than two spell combo. Take a 7th-level warlock, have them choose a Fiend as their patron to unlock Fire Shield, then have them use both spell slots on Armor of Agathys and Fire Shield at 4th Level. While casting blade ward on your turns, you have resistance to bludgeoning/piercing/slashing from weapons from Blade Ward, as well as cold or fire (your choice, granted by Fire Shield). Any melee attack within five feet that lands will earn the attacker 20 cold damage (from Armor of Agathys + 2d8 fire/cold damage (your choice, from Fire Shield). If you want to make sure that you only get hit by melee attacks while this is active, fall prone (disadvantage to all range attacks, advantage to attacks within five feet).
Total waste of spell slots, and relies on stupid enemies, but still pretty funny.
As a new player, one of my fave low lvl spell combos are thaumaturgy and minor illusion. Minor illusion can only make visual affects, where as thaumaturgy can create sensory affect. So you can make someone see something AND hear it. I also believe that it lasts around the some time (approx. 1min) I'm not sure if someone's already said this but yeah :3 (also both are/can be cantrips) and you need to people to cast this. (please correct me if i got something wrong).

im a tad bit fruity
I guess Plant Growth and Giant Insect would work with 5 wasps so they can fly and not worry about moving slow.
