I'm new to doing this and I've created a race with racial bonuses and proficiencies, but I'm having trouble actually getting the option to pick or apply those bonuses and proficiencies when making a character sheet. Is anyone able to help? A lot of this stuff is just going right over my head.
Have you actually added the modifiers and such, or did you only list them as plain text?
Assuming that you did actually add those: When you were creating those racial traits, did you list the “Feature Type” as “Granted,” or did you pick something else? If you selected anything besides “granted” from the dropdown for those features, go back and reset them to granted, then re-save those features. After that, re-save the entire homebrewed race.
Assuming that you did actually add those, after you did, did you re-save the entire race using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under ”Basic Information?” If not, do that and then wait about 20 minutes and check the character builder again.
If none of that sorts you out, come back and we can try again again with other common homebrew troubleshooting suggestions. Additionally, you can post a link to your Homebrew here and a Moderator or Staff Member can look at it for you if they have a chance. They can even see Homebrews that aren’t published, so DON’T publish it.
I believe I have them all saved properly, I just have no idea why they aren't showing up when making a character for it.
I noticed that you already published your homebrew. As a note, you can no longer simply fix this one. Now you will have to create a new version and republish it. It doesn’t have any subraces so it won’t be a huge big deal, but if it did have subraces then you would basically have to start over from scratch. In future, never publish anything that doesn’t work 100% correctly.
I have done what I can to find someone better able to help you than I am. I hope they can help you get this sorted out. Good luck.
I just had a look and can see a few things missing that you'll need to add to the race to get it working.
For now, I have rejected this homebrew race, so it is no longer published. This means you will be able to edit it, test it, and submit again once everything is working and ready!
First off - proficiencies
You have a racial feature named "Proficiencies" which defines "The player may choose two proficiencies between nature, survival, animal handling, or insight"
I've gone ahead and added an OPTION to that feature named "Proficiency: Nature" - you'll want to add three more in the same way, for survival, animal handling and insight.
Ability Score Increases
The racial feature for this needs modifiers added. The best way to learn about this is to create yourself a new homebrew race, using an existing race as a template (e.g. Dwarf) - you can then edit that and see how the Ability Score Increases are configured as modifiers.
That's absolutely the best way to learn homebrew on D&D Beyond and is how I started out - when you need to do something, find an existing thing that is similar, then make a copy and edit to see how it is built.

That’s exactly how I got started too. Making copies to see how stuff works taught me most of what I know. (You should see my “deleted homebrews,” it’s like a graveyard of half dissected everything.) I learned the rest of what I know through trial and error.
I've got all the modifiers and everything working on the main race, but I can't figure out how to get the creation sheet to let me pick two proficiencies, only one
And stat bonuses for the sub races won't apply to the character sheet either
You have to add the proficiency thing to the race twice, once for each choice they get.
After you add anything to the race or the subrace you must re-save the entire race using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information for the parent race. Then give it 20 minutes to push the changes and check again. The Ability Score bonuses from the subrace won’t list in the character builder, but they should get added to the actual character sheet.
So i did what you said and made a copy of something else to look at how the stat bonus is set up. I actually already had exactly the same thing but it wasn't working

Hey there,
I just had a look and can see a few things missing that you'll need to add to the race to get it working.
For now, I have rejected this homebrew race, so it is no longer published. This means you will be able to edit it, test it, and submit again once everything is working and ready!

Luckily I think I got it figured out! I think I was just overcomplicating things too much but finally got it sorted! Thank you for the help!
I’m not sure how much help I really provided, but I’m glad it worked out!

You could help with one more thing:
