As it stands, Savage Attacker is pretty bad. Let's say you roll 1d8 for weapon damage; you're going to reroll on anything below a 5, so half your attacks won't get any benefit from it. The rest of the attacks will on average increase in damage by 2.5 points. Tie in that it's not every attack and it scales badly later on.
Perhaps I can ask you this, if I was making the aforementioned subclass feature above. Do you think a revised savage attacker where it is all attacks + maybe half barbarian level added as damage to all attacks is too strong as a level 3 subclass ability?
Half level damage to all attacks is too much. The only existing subclass that comes close is Zealot Barbarian which gets 1d6 + half level once per turn. A rough equivalent when adding to every attack might be Savage Attacker + doubling your rage bonus damage. So +4 per hit instead of +2 when raging at 3, +8 instead of +4 per hit at 20.
And then the other features should focus on things other than damage, because this is about as much offensive boost as a subclass should provide.
Oh wow! That is a good idea! Thank you for your thoughts on this. Doubling rage damage and savage on all attacks.. Yeah that does sound pretty good.
I appreciate the idea. The concept for the subclass is essentially a weird divination-esque barbarian. Where when he does damage, he "chooses" a fate or reality that did the most damage, so I really wanted to use/reskin 'Savage Attacker' with this theme. I'll do some internal math with your suggestion but it does sound alright.
Hiya friends,
I have a quick question concerning Savage Attacker and the inclusion of it as a feature for a custom subclass I'm creating.
First, the feat as written is a once per turn effect, would it be too strong if it became all attacks?
Second, if a Barbarian was to get this Savage attacker with the aforementioned change as it's level 3 additive to Rage, would that be too strong?
So far I have the thought of the latter with a plus to damage equal to half barbarian level, but I am unsure still.
Please help :(

I rule that it affects all attacks as standard.
Thank you for the reply.
