Often when I create homebrew, I like to include a picture of the item or creature. In the case of the most recent homebrew item I published, the Ring of the Rakshasa, when I look at it, the item looks fine and there is a nice picture of it. I can click the picture, and it zooms in to give me a larger picture of it, just like I would expect. But someone told me the picture is not showing up for them. When I open the link in an incognito window (not logged into my DDB account) then sure enough, the item loads, but there is no image.
As soon as you publish a homebrew the photo is made in viewable for anyone else. They do that in case the image is not ours to use (like if we swipe it from the interwebs) or in case the image is inappropriately for all audiences. You are the only one who can see those pics, and possibly folks in campaigns with you as well, I’m not sure.
Is this a posted policy somewhere? Because that statement does not square with another piece of published homebrew that contains the original art I included with it. It is also extremely disappointing, if true, because I enjoy including art with my homebrew to make a more complete product for public consumption.

🤷♂️ Perhaps a Staffer or Mod can answer these questions better than I.
I spoke to some folks on the DDB Discord. Looks like my paladin subclass was put through back in the days when homebrew had to be manually approved. The auto-approval process strips art from them. It's a shame too because all the art I post has full permission from (and credit to) the creator. In fact, I frequently commission art specifically for the homebrew item, monster, or subclass I am creating.
I really wish there was a way I could submit art for approval since it definitely adds something to the homebrew. Maybe make it a higher tier perk in order to keep the numbers manageable?
OK, this questions has been answered, and I can let this thread sink into oblivion. But since you have come this far, I may as well show off the great art that someone made for me for this item.
I'm not sure why it only now occurred to me that I can drop the art in the comments for the item. Not my ideal solution, but at least I can show it off that way.

I just tested this with one of my homebrew items, and it appears that people with whom I am sharing content can see the art as well.

Ah, that explains it. And thank you for testing that and letting me know, I appreciate it.
