Level 3: Drain Life You gain an innate power to drain life from the living. After you take the Attack or Magic action, you can use a Bonus Action to make an Unarmed Strike. On a hit, the Unarmed Strike deals Necrotic damage equal to 1d6 plus your Charisma modifier instead of its normal damage. When you hit a creature with Drain Life, you can expend a Pact Magic spell slot to deal an extra 1d8 Necrotic damage to the target, plus another 1d8 per level of the spell slot. When you expend a spell slot in this way, you regain Hit Points equal to the amount of damage dealt.
Level 3: Nocturnal Predator As a predator of the night, you have been blessed with enhanced vision in darkness. You have Darkvision with a range of 60 feet. If you already have Darkvision, its range increases by 60 feet.
Level 6: Creature of the Night You always have the Polymorph spell prepared. With this feature, you can cast it only on yourself without expending a spell slot and without Material components to transform into a Bat, Rat, or Wolf. Your game statistics are replaced by the Beast’s stat block, but you retain your creature type; Hit Points; Hit Point Dice; Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores; class features; languages; and feats. You also retain your skill and saving throw proficiencies and use your Proficiency Bonus for them, in addition to gaining the proficiencies of the creature. If a skill or saving throw modifier in the Beast’s stat block is higher than yours, use the one in the stat block. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
Level 10: Eldritch Appetite When you reduce an enemy to 0 Hit Points with your Drain Life feature, you can take a Reaction to consume the last of its fleeting mortality. When you do so, you regain one of your expended Pact Magic spell slots. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest.
Level 14: Eternal Night Your vampire patron grants you a taste of true immortality. You no longer age, and you gain Resistance to Necrotic damage. As a Bonus Action, you gain the following benefits for 1 minute: • At the start of each of your turns, you regain 1d6 Hit Points if you have at least 1 Hit Point and you aren’t in direct sunlight or running water. If you take Radiant damage, you don’t regain Hit Points from this feature at the start of your next turn. • When you use your Drain Life feature, you can deal an extra 1d8 Necrotic damage without expending a spell slot. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest.
If I can share some thoughts and advice on this subclass:
To start off, Drain Life is absolutely absurd. Lets compare to Vampiric Touch, which deals an average of 10.5, and heals for only half. Thats 5.25 healing on an action, that may just miss. Yes you can try again next turn, but that means a caster sitting in melee and hoping for underwhelming damage and very slow healing as a full action, requiring conc. This effect at the same level of slot deals 3.5+4(4.5)+5 damage based on your spellcasting mod, which totals to 26.5 damage and healing, and you can never miss it as you just dont expend a slot unless you hit. And you may do it as a bonus action after casting any spell, which is certainly much for a turn. And this recharges on a short rest because its pact magic slots. No comments on nocternal predator, good wording and no issues. Creature of the Night honestly makes no sense, as it 'gives you the Polymorph spell', but then doesn't actually use the effects of the polymorph spell. It uses a completely separate effect that is then listed, and in a way that makes it difficult to read at best. Semicolons break the flow and aren't proper here, bullet points would make it a much smoother read. Additionally, you just gave the bite above Pact Tactics. You should specify whether or not the beast form can speak and cast spells. I'd recommend seeing Wild Shape for wording guidance, but this feature definitely needs a redo. Eldritch Appetite is okay. It feels a bit strange for a feature to just be 'if you kill someone, regain a resource that you used to likely used to get that kill' and exasperates the problematic power of the first feature a bit, but its not that bad. The capstone honestly feels underwhelming? The regen is likely to be used out of combat, and its on a sub with enough HP regen already. And adding a d8 to the damage and healing is just okay? Its not that impactful at level 14.
Altogether, the subclass feels VERY frontloaded, and the healing should be toned back. The balance of healing in DnD mostly involves healing never outpacing damage, while this matches it. The first feature in general just feels a bit much.

Np! Always happy to do some HB reviewing :)) Honestly if it was spread out more, the healing was like halved or so, and the later features weren't underwhelming, I see potential there for a solid rework

I no longer care about your opinions on balance and will leave presently.

NNCHRIS: SOUL THIEF, MASTER OF THE ARCANE, AND KING OF NEW YORKNN Gdl Creator of Ilheia and her Knights of the Fallen Stars ldG Lesser Student of Technomancy [undergrad student in computer science] Supporter of the 2014 rules, and a MASSIVE Homebrewer. Come to me all ye who seek salvation in wording thy brews! Open to homebrew trades at any time!! Or feel free to request HB, and Ill see if I can get it done for ya! Characters (Outdated)
I didn't make this subclass, but I can switch it out for something else if it bothers you.
Up to the mods, IDK. Just giving my perspective and view on the sub as a whole
I'll have to talk with the others, but thanks for bringing this up Chris
Np! Always happy to do some HB reviewing :)) Honestly if it was spread out more, the healing was like halved or so, and the later features weren't underwhelming, I see potential there for a solid rework
love ya man
