Elves are an invasive species from the feywild that has spread across neighbouring planes. Most notably in Neth, Materia and the Shadowfell. Elves used to be the term reserved for the Materian subspecies. The proper term for the species is actually Eladrin, but this name is only still used for the four subspecies of the Feywild. Elves are one of the oldest sapient races and also one of the most long-lived in materia. Generally only the Kitsune have a naturally longer lifespan in Materia. For a fey they are actually quite short-lived as most other fey creatures can reach thousands of years. Elves are slender humanoids that stand shorter than humans, but taller than dwarves. Averaging at about 150 centimeters tall, the tallest of them barely breaching the 170s. It's the female elves that are taller on average, but the difference is small. While the Eladrin are often loyal to their fey gods, many of the other subspecies have chosen to follow the newer Seldarine Gods.
Eladrin
Eladrin are the original elves, and are descendants of fey meant to serve as the common folk in service of the higher fey powers. There are four subspecies corresponding to the four main courts of the Feywild. Spring Eldarin are a merry folk, easy-going with a culture of friendly trickery. Summer Eladrin are a hot-headed warrior folk. Autumn Eladrin are charming creatures with an enchanting air. Winter Eladrin tend to be cold and frightening in their interactions. The four eladrin subspecies are closely related and an eladrins parents do not guarantee the subspecies the child will belong to as each eladrin has the latent genes of each subspecies and which gene activates seems mostly up to nurture and personality.
Elves of Alvenheim
The Elves of Alvenheim were the first elves to leave the Feywild and have settled in the Isles of Hope. They are split into five subspecies: Sun Elves, Moon Elves, Wood Elves, Dark Elves and Sea Elves. The Sun and Moon Elves are together referred to as the High Elves.
High Elves
The High Elves are the closest thing still around to the ancient eladrin that first entered Materia. For a long time they were one subspecies, but in the past thousand years it has become increasingly clear that they have split into the Sun Elves and Moon Elves somewhere along the line. Sun Elves occupy the high society of Errandil, while the Moon Elves tend towards the suburbs and villages surrounding the great capital. Moon Elves often have a blue tint to their skin compared to their sun elven counterparts.
Wood Elves
Wood Elves occupy the deep forests of the Isle of Hope, as well as the great village of Feycircle that is said to be built on the original place where Elandrin first entered Materia. Wood Elves are incredibly fast and connected to the natural forces of Materia. Having truly become tied to their adoptive plane more than any other elf.
Drow
Drow are the descendants of the Dark Elves of old. The dark elves followed their goddess Lolth into the underdark after the Seldarine Wars and evolved into the Drow. The drow are a heavily matriarchal species that barely acknowledge the worth of males. They are often considered evil by the surface races, and do have a culture based on greed and ambition. Not all drow are like this though and in recent years an increasing amount have returned to the surface under the guidance of Eilistraee. These surface Drow often become nocturnal as a result of their sensitivity to the sun. Surface Drow do sometimes take up the name of Dark Elves once more to distance themselves further from their underdark cousins. The Drow of the underdark sometimes come up to the surface as well, but this is often meant to capture slaves or wealth, rather than for permanent settlement. Being able to capture a surface elf and keep them as a house slave is a particularly prestigious price for any drow matriarch to show off with.
Sea Elves
Sea Elves are a strange subspecies of elves that decided they’d rather live underwater. They developed gills and moved into the Tripoint Straight. They came into conflict with the Sahuagin and Tritons that already lived beneath the waves, but managed to carve out a kingdom for themselves. The Deep Elves tend to stay neutral in most elven matters and were not involved in the Seldarine Wars, their god Deep Sashelas only joined the Seldarine Pantheon after the wars were over.
Other Elves of Materia
Besides the Elves of Alvenheim, there are a few more subspecies that have ended up in Materia. These elves are not part of the original ancient eldrins, and came to Materia in later times.
Yosei Elves
The Yosei Elves are a subspecies of elves that settled in the great city of Kyo after being exiled from their former home. They are mostly found in the western district of the city. It is said that the Yosei Elves, originally only known as the Yosei, were elves that had infested heaven. They were thrown out by the forces there and accompanied by a shoony guard to keep them in Materia. Over the years the Shoony of materia and Yosei became one community in Kyo though. Yosei elves are often more individualistic than other elves, tending to see themselves as great heroes.
Horned Elves
The Horned Elves, also known as the Elderans or Aereni Eladrin, are a mutated elf race whose origin is unknown even to them. They have two subspecies, the Straight-horned Elderans who have more in common with High Elves and the Antler-horned Elderans who have more in common with Wood Elves. The Elderan have settled in the desert of Istar where they have taken over many of the oases, forming a triple alliance with the two other great oasis races, the groundlings and the crimsonians.
War Elves
The War Elves were an aggressive race of eladrin with a bright red skin and sharp teeth thought to have been mutated through Infernal influence. They made their home in the Horn of Amazonia, where they came into conflict with the equally war-like Amazons. The conflict between Amazons and War Elves was so bloody that it convinced the Minotaurs to abandon the continent completely. Amazons won this conflict and the war elves went extinct, the first of many races that the amazons would wipe out.
Pallid Elves
Pallid Elves are the Eladrin who did not go into Materia, but instead went to the Living Plane of Neth. They are heavily mutated by these new surroundings and have grown many natural weapons to defend themselves against the local Nethians and Musteloids with whom they share their plane. Pallid Elves are the least magical of elven kind, preferring a more martial focus.
Shadar-kai
The Shadar-kai are the Eladrin that left the feywild for the shadowfell, carving out the Lands of Shadar for themselves. A pale and sour people, they are said to have originally followed a fey goddess whose name was lost, but is said to be the Raven Queen. The Raven Queen let go of her people though, preferring her castle in Ravenloft. This has led Shar to become the new dominant goddess amongst their people.
Astral Elves
Astral Elves are the Eladrin who got lost on their way to other planes and got stuck in the Astral Sea until that place became a second home for them. As the years followed, the Astral Elves learned to survive the great Astral Sea by hopping from Husk to Husk, until at one point they found a specific husk that they felt a strong attachment to. The Astral Elves built a capital on this husk, which they called the Dancer’s Husk. Since then these Astral Elves have once again found ways to leave the astral plane and many go on expeditions into random portals to find a cure for their boredom.
Half-Elves
Elves and eladrin have proved to be very compatible with the many races of the other planes, such as orcs, dwarves, humans, halflings, firbolgs and many others. Their genes are very flexible but very dominant, meaning that the elven features often take the overhand in these couplings, resulting in the half-elves. Half-elves do have some aspects of their other race however, and so are not always fully accepted as elvenkind. Infertility is also a big problem among half-elves as the coupling of two half-elves always results in an infertile child. This means it’s hard for them to become an independent species. Needing outside blood to procreate.

Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer came down upon her head Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer made sure that she was dead
To those outside the Amazon culture, they seem like a fearsome race of warrior women. In truth it's not that all their women are warriors, but that all their warriors are women. This is for the fact that male amazons are barely sentient, small and weak creatures compared to their female counterparts. Amazon women can also be scholars, mages, artisans, farmers or whatever other role their society needs. This does not take away that Amazons do have a fearsome war tradition and those girls wishing to become soldiers are trained from a young age and are known for great discipline and zeal.
Many Amazons have a strong connection to their chosen gods, and many of their warriors learn how to battle as paladins or clerics. Among the most important gods in their pantheons are Queen Allara and her three wives, Rhamnesis the goddess of Vengeance and Farit the crafter. Those who leave their commune or are raised outside their culture are often drawn to female war or matriarchal gods like Athena, the Morrigan, the Red Knight and Lolth.
The fiercest Amazons belong to the cult of Houzi. These women are known for their great skill at mounted archery and are even said to amputate one or both breasts to be able to better perform with a bow.
Amazon procreation is done by the female producing an egg sack. This egg sack is then given to the male, who will care for it as their only instincts are to care for young and obey females. If the child is a male, it will remain with its father until claimed by a female or gifted away by his mother. Females will join their mother at the age of eight and be trained in their chosen profession.

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).
The gancanaghs are a community of former fey that long ago moved into the Shadowfell. They've adapted to the new environment by taking the light out of their eyes and spreading it along their bodies, so that the shadows can't approach them. Or so it is said. Nobody knows why the gancanaghs fled the Feywild so long ago, but they've found the courage to spread to other realms. Small communities have formed in Neth, Limbo, Materia and the Elemental Chaos. Gancanaghs can take the appearance of their mother race, being almost indistinguishable from this race except for two quirks. Under bright light their eyes will turn a deep black and no shadows will be formed from their body. Anyone that has met a gancanagh will agree that he is very beautiful for a member of his mother’s race.
Every gancanagh is born as a biological male. As such they can not reproduce among themselves. When a gancanagh reaches maturity, they're sent out on a pilgrimage to find a mate among the other races. If their quest is successful, the resulting child will take the appearance of the mother's race. A female child will be like any other normal member of their race, but a son will always become another gancanagh. Most gancanagh will leave their mate after having a son and take said son back to the community to be raised there. Though some have been known to remain with their mate until the mate's death. A gancanagh may perform this pilgrimage any number of times they want, but must do so at least once to replace himself in the community.

Elves

Thank you :D Yeah, I actually added that because a lot of the players that want to play a taller elf do have female characters XD and it made sense as to why elves, especially drow, are so matriarchal
