Building your castle with supplies from Gnome Depot.
Roll on wild magic surge table every time you use any appliance.
Lighting a sconce can trigger a trap door, cause an explosion, start an automated calliope hidden somewhere behind a wall, or splatter the creature lighting the sconce with smelly bright-pink dye.
Passing through the main entrance activates two metal golems that will approach those who entered, greet them, and take their hats and coats - by force if the creature is unwilling to part with them. If the creature has no hat or cloak, the golems will take a the next item available such as a tunic, a scalp, or skin from the torso. The golems will unceremoniously deposit all gathered items in a corner of the entry room and, then, return to where they were initially positioned and deactivate.
Chairs attempt to move appropriately to assist with seating at a table. When approaching a chair regardless of the intent to sit, roll a d6. On an even number, the chair moves appropriately. On an odd number, the chair moves incorrectly and injures the person near it for 1d4+1 damage.
The bell pulls about the castle also serve as a defense for the castle. Multiple pulls on a single bell pull before dawn of the following morning has a 50% chance of triggering a siege state, trapping all occupants inside their current rooms by closing all portals - windows, doors, waiters, holes in privies, and vents - between rooms with solid stone. Breathing creatures have 1 hour of air per 5 cubic feet in their current room subtracting objects occupying space and dividing the air by the number of breathing occupants. The trapdoor effect from a sconce will not trigger. There is no way to release the castle from the siege state.
The bookcase is animated to move around, but if you pull the wrong book, several books animate and start jabbering their contents all at once. The content of the book determines the voice and personality. Your tool kit is animated to help you fix mechanical things, but if left unattended they'll deconstruct a random piece of furniture into an unusable, but creative combination on parts. On occasion you'll find them trying to "reconstruct" your dog/familiar.
The upper stories of the house feature turrets, some of which you can't access via stairwell. Instead, a system of gnome-sized catapults and trampolines launches you to the turret you want to access, with a feather fall effect cushioning the landing (sporadically).
In an emergency, your house will burrow underground. Unfortunately, your roof will still be exposed, and the system for digging itself back out is out of order.

Add a chance of flooding the entire complex with lava any time you pull a lever and we've got a game of Dwarf Fortress.
Players can determine exact position of Plane Shift destinations instead of general location - even when the space is occupied. Planeshifting into the exact spot where a creature is positioned has the same effect as players teleporting into other players in Quake.

Bad idea: bringing up katanas on forums. (My bad.)
That's it. I'm sick of all this "talking about katanas is bad" bullshit that's going on in the D&D Beyond system right now. Talking about katanas deserves much better than that. Much, much better than that.
I should know what I'm talking about. I myself participated in the great flame wars of 3e in the U.S. for 600 minutes (that's about 10 hours) and have been angry about it for almost 2 years now. I can even derail unrelated threads with my talk about katana.
Moderators spend years working on banning due to a single katana thread and ban up to a million fanboys to produce the finest flame wars known to mankind.
Katanas are thrice as controversial as European swords and thrice as hard to stat for that matter too. Any controversy a longsword can create, a katana can create better. I'm pretty sure a katana discussion could easily cause a breakdown in the fabric of the internet.
Ever wonder why medieval Europe never bothered conquering Japan? That's right, they were too scared to engage the hordes of fanboys and their katana arguments of destruction. Even in World War II, American soldiers targeted the katana fanboys first because their complaining power was feared and annoying.
So what am I saying? Katanas are simply the best accelerant that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better kerfuffles in the D&D Beyond system. Here is the stat block I propose for Katana fanboys:
Large swarm of small humanoids Str 6, Wis 1, Cha 2 -2 to hit 1d6 psychic damage Regenerates far too often
Now that seems a lot more representative of the annoying power of katana fanboys in real life, don't you think?
tl;dr = Katana threads need to do more damage in D&D Beyond, see my new stat block.

A bard who was indirectly responsible but still mostly to blame for the squashing of 15 orphans was going to cast mend on them. The rest of the party convinced him to just chalk it up to his death count.
