Guys, I am so hyperfixated on Draw Steel's demons.
They're insane.
What’s Draw Steel?
New TTRPG by Matthew Colville.
It has a more narrow focus than DnD, but it's very, very good where it wants to be.
It's a self described heroic, cinematic, tactical RPG. You basically need a battle map, which I don't really like, but it is just a truly epic system.
Oh cool. What about the demons do you find interesting?
A lot. Gonna copy-paste my infodump from Discord.
They are body horror incarnate, and they hold a vital place in the timescape (think basically the Great Wheel from DnD).
They're the decomposers, even if they don't want to be. Okay, so basically, energy starts at the very top of the multiverse and slowly sinks down, kind of like in our real-world oceans. Higher manifolds (the Draw Steel name for planes of existence) use their abundant energy to create powerful technology, so angels are typically constructed servitors of the gods, who are forbidden to enter the material-plane equivalent due to its dramatically lower energy. Lower worlds use magic instead of tech, because while it's less precise, it's more efficient. The lowest world, at the very bottom of the timescape, is the Abyssal Wastes, a sun-scorched desert home to the demons. There is barely any energy there, so competition is fierce. Demons can't even reproduce because that would take too much personal energy, and so they just... appear, just like in DnD. The big difference, though, is that demons in DnD are embodiments of pure chaos and evil, while for Draw Steel demons it's more of an incidental thing. They normally can't afford kindness or empathy, so any semblance of order is impossible. HOWEVER! These demons are far more complex than those in DnD. The strongest demons aren't just the ones with the most souls, it's those that have developed in a way to help (and thus control) others. Living buildings, musicians, politicians, the works. Oh, I should mention, demons need to have souls in their bodies or they enter a state called Lethe where they are ravenous and insane, killing everything around them in hopes of acquiring a soul. They don't need to eat or drink, and they don't even need to destroy a soul to feed from it, but they can choose to do so if they want a power surge. Generally not a great move.
Anyway, back to the point, stronger demons will actually adopt demons of the lower echelons as their children. That's insane. A DnD demon couldn't give a damn about other demons, but these guys will literally make pacts with mortals to make sure their adopted children get fed and feel comfortable on the material plane. Demons can't die normally due to their malleable nature, so they kinda just get mashed into paste and sent back to their hated "home," the Abyssal Wastes. No demon wants to be there.

I already had an idea for a demonic summoner, but it needs work. My concept is a sort of demon sympathizer, or perhaps a sort of "ethical renaissance demon" who wants to bring about an age of enlightenment by combining humanoid technology with demon magic (which is typically more dangerous than mortal magic because it gets overcharged on higher manifolds) to create a better place for both sides.

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.
May each word that I speak be backed by each of my teeth.

That sounds like a great idea!
He's gonna be terribly unsuccessful to start out, for... obvious reasons. But, once he joins the party he's going to be an amazing summoner who shares his one soul with his demonic minions so that they don't enter Lethe while they're up here.

Oh he’s a PC? That’d be an interesting part dynamic.

Yeah, everything is already laid out in the mechanics of the game. Although, he is going to be a devil instead of a demon, but I can reflavor him.

As long as reflavoring is possible, it is a (likely) good system.

I think I might try and intro the guy onto TFS, since he would actually fit perfectly on that thread.
