I will preface this by saying that I am a new player, and I welcome feedback.
So, I made my first character the other day, on paper, and I thought I was doing everything right. The character sheet I made, and the Character(s, because I did this twice) I made in the native character creator here are identical....except for when it comes to the HP.
Sure, they have different ability scores and ability modifiers, but the HP rules for Paladins is the same. (p.84)
"10 + constitution modifier". The character sheet I see on here doesn't do that. I tried this twice, and the result is the same so what am I missing?
I created a Mountain Dwarf Paladin, chaotic good, Folk Hero. By the rules I read and the process I went through, for example, What This Paladin's Max HP should be at, at level 1 is 13. 10 + constitution modifier of +3. It shows 15. There are a few conclusions. I could be misunderstanding part of the character creation process on either medium. This is, honestly, what I expect; The site has a base level of 15HP that it creates these characters with that I missed in the online creation process; or it's a bug that needs to be fixed.
That doesn't happen to me, I get "13" if I create a new character with your numbers so it looks like you have added something more by mistake (item or feat or something?). I'm not sure what it would be though.
The character creator defaults to 12 as that is the highest possible it could be. You need to set your character to Manual HP on the Home tab of the character creator and then change your actual HP to 12 in the Class tab.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. First, the OP says the correct number should be 13, not 12. Second, you don't need to select manual HP in order to get correct values to display in DDB. Third, the HP default is not 12 for a paladin, even on DDB.
There is a glitch with the character creator where, when you pick “manual HP” prior to selecting your class, the system doesn’t know what size Hit Die to assign your character. So it defaults to the largest possible, the Barbarians’ d12. Your Paladin should have 13 HP because it should be 10+3 (1d10+Con mod). But since there is a glitch it’s giving you 15 HP because it’s using the d12 instead of the d10 it’s supposed to be using. Simply set the “rolled HP” to 10 (instead of 12) and it will fix the problem for you.
Thanks for the insight, guys! I'll link the character I have before changing anything. I turned off feats for the characters. I'll attempt making a new one with the exact same race and class, making sure to pick the class the first chance I get. I'll let you know if that fixes the issue here.
Also, not sure how the highest HP at level 1 would be 12 for a Paladin. If you roll a 16 or higher for your constitution score, it's simply greater than 12. The MOST I should be able to be at level 1 is 15. From what I can tell, thats true for any class who's lvl 1 HP is 10+ Constitution Mod.

I chose the class the first moment I could, and it definitely seems to have fixed the issue I was having.
Yikes, those are some rough starting stats! Good luck with that!
Lol, not a character I'm actually going to play with. These will all be deleted once I actually intend to make a character to play with. But yeah, when I rolled them I was like "at least this is meaningless" lol

If you switch to Manual HP before choosing a class - it puts 12 in the Rolled HP box which can be found on the Class page of the builder in the Manage HP button. Constitution is then added on top of that. Changing the Rolled HP to 10 (because you're a Paladin) will fix the issue instantly. There is no need to recreate characters.
