It says in the Monster Manual that the amulet takes one week and costs 1,000gp to make, but it never specifies the actual guardian. The only thing I can guess would be guessing the cost between a flesh golem and a clay golem. Thanks in advance for anyone who comments.
Monster manual, Core Rulebook III, Pg 163. Shield Guardian: Large Construct. Cost 100,000 Gp to create. Choose material (wood, stone, whatever). Craft wonderous item amulet and so on. Really powerful creation. I would probably make the PC attune to the amulet and make it more of a body guard due to the power. (AC 24), 10ft reach, has fast healing, etc. Work with them to create what they want without making something that will break your game. I mean the PC adds a few buffs to this thing and it is rampaging around like a fool cashing out every enemy they come across. Lol I hope this helps you guys make exactly what you want.
I just checked page 163 of the MM and it says none of that, instead it’s all about Gnolls. I also checked the entry for the shield guardian on page 271 of the MM and can find nothing that states it costs 100,000 gp to make a Shield Guardian. In fact, I just flipped through the entire MM from the I table of contents on page 3 to the last page of the index on page 352 and couldn’t find it. Can you please post an image of that for me?

Same, pg 163 is just about gnoll stat blocks in my monster manual. Is it possible that we and Cobra615 have different versions of The Monster Manual?
Ok so I tried to insert the image and this thing is set up like a turtle backwards and upside down in a snail shell on the coast of double down squirrel town.
Try this. it is on a different page vs my book at home. Look on page 223 & 224. I suppose I must have a monster manual that is older than 3.5. My mistake. It says it was printed in October of 2000 and it is a first printing. So yeah, it is a 3e monster manual. If the link does not work, Search for D&D Monster manual 3.5. Should be one of the first pdf's.
The only mention about what it take to craft one is near the end of the Shield Guardian entry:
Magnificent Treasure.Because a shield guardian’s ownership can be transferred by giving its matching amulet to another creature, some wizards collect exorbitant sums from princes, nobles, and crime lords to create shield guardians for them. At the same time, a shield guardian makes a mighty prize for anyone who slays its master and claims its amulet. [emphasis mine]
I would suggest that potentially, the price was left vague as a method of hinting to the DM & PCs that crafting one might consume a considerable amount of downtime, gold, materials and resources. So much so, that the adventuring of the person crafting said item would effectively be ended for the duration of the current adventure/plot arc. Definitely not RAW, so, the same with anything that fits in this category, DM fiat. YMMV.

BoringBard's long and tedious posts somehow manage to enrapture audiences. How? Because he used Charm Person, the #1 bard spell!

Well I guess you can use D&D 3.5 that you linked as a reference but this is 5E and it doesn’t give that much information
