An axe beak is a tall flightless bird with strong legs and a heavy, wedge-shaped beak. It has a nasty disposition and tends to attack any unfamiliar creature that wanders too close.

Posted May 25, 2020Random reason to look up the Axe Beak, they a homebrew background option for a Rodéo Rancher critter. Didn't know what Axe Beak's were, but now they super cool idea for a farm animal.

Posted Aug 27, 2020The Axe Beak were once more numerous in the great plains. They were the preferred mount of the Nothyde Bugbear Totem Spirit Barbarians. The level 6 elk aspect allowed their bands to move with a speed beyond that of the old kingdom making their attacks appear to take place through the entire kingdom. The war leader Harden Fast used these riders to decimate the supplies convoys for the old kingdoms chevaliers and knights. Trained warhorses perished after the extensive pursuit as the Nothyde used superior speed in retreating skirmish lines. Only late in the war was the use of wagoned ballistae and delaying tactics was the old kingdom able to get a stalemate. But in the treacherous peace, the old kingdoms use of dark magic led many of the Axe Beak to be infected with a plague. This sickness created the ill-temper and makes the Axe Beak very difficult to train.
