Description
Commoners include peasants, serfs, servants, pilgrims, merchants, artisans, and hermits.
Can you bump up the stat block to make it say, a warrior?
They die from exhausian first, but if you ignore that then I suppose there are some who could fight indefinitely
~signed, the graveyard Lich
Im using it currently as a lower form of the guard
yeah, in the first session of a campaign, I ran, the monk punched some guy, and he went flying across the room dead. the monk was level one.
I would just give the commoner like 1 level in the fighter class, then boom. warrior.
I want to play a commonor in a campaign. Is there anything that says commonors can't be classes? Surely this is acceptable right?
My players are ripping the heads off of these people.
I wish I could talk my DM into letting me play a "Commoner" party member with the group, instead of selecting a class
How do you know this? sus...
Assuming you could convince your DM, using the commoner's stat block and having it progress as an Expert Sidekick from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything is ... not the worst thing in the world.
You'd have one attribute restricted saving throw bonus, simple weapon and light armor proficiency, five skill proficiencies and two tool proficiencies. And the ability to use Help as a bonus action.
You'd definitely be underpowered as a PC but I assume you'd want to be doing this for RP reasons. Maybe you could persuade your DM on this. Good Luck. It's up to your DM whether they would allow the character's race to be modified like an NPC, as the rules in Chapter 9 of the Dungeon Master's Guide indicate, or as a PC and allow you to choose your race.
I feel commoners should be less weak
that would be the perfect ceature for a dragon to eat . te canpainn is like the party makes adeal with a dragon to get the thing that they want but before the deal the dragon wanted to eat them and the deal would be like we want this thing and the dragon sais that if they give him 12 commoners hewill not eat them and give them the thing that they wany
If you go into a city at level 1 and murder 35,500 commoners you become level 20.
Have you ever tried to kill a frog? It ain’t easy if you don’t know what you are owing lol
Depends on where it bites. I wouldn't want any large dog breed getting my neck.
easy to kill
You'd probably be attacked by at least 3 high level adventuring parties if you decided to just kill over 30,000 people randomly, though.
Considering the sheer amount of attack rolls you'd be making against that player, and how they wouldn't really be able to do anything with how they only get one turn, even with super high AC there is no way you're gonna avoid any significant amount of damage. Assuming only 15% hit that's 95 damage per round, if I'm crunching my numbers correctly. With Boon of Resilience that would only be 27 damage per round, and at that point the commoners might be in trouble, but it's still not looking good for our player here. If we're assuming that this is a 20th level fighter or something, with Haste they'd be able to reliably take out 4 commoners per round, which is not so coincidentally the amount of attacks they can make per round.
We're really helping our little player out here, and yet it's still not looking good. So, 254 all at once sounds like a good estimate. Admittedly, it would be a really boring fight to actually play out, but still, don't get cocky.
Most adventurers could kill a commoner with a single punch lol
I don’t think so, they have 1 hp so you can kill them with a punch, and they can’t do any damage to you.
At least the commoner can do 4 at max..
