Description
Commoners include peasants, serfs, servants, pilgrims, merchants, artisans, and hermits.
Yeah. I've been using it for peasants, serfs, slaves, servants, pilgrims, merchants, artisans, and hermits...
Monster Manual page 345
I like how in DnD it is just as difficult to kill a frog as it is to kill a commoner.
It’s also funny how it is also the same difficulty to kill an onyx
I am pretty sure that's accurate. Lol. Frogs irl may have less hitpoints but they have higher AC
So in d&d, if you're not an adventurer or evil, you're basically dead.
Six level twenty player characters can kill 1000 commoners with easily, according the the encounter creator.
But thats not including if you have a mage or your stats if you have a barbarian with 20 AC those commoners are screwed even if you have trillions of them.
I never knew this existed, man my townsfolk were STRONG
M-May I know how strong..?
That stat block makes no sense at all, a commoner dwarf can out run a dwarf character, an elf commoner can't usually speak elvish... really?
Commoner, Human

It's meant to be a starting point I think. You can obviously edit it to suit your game.
You can't not edit this. My pilgrim has 10 intellect and wisdom, and no proficiency in religion. Give 1-2 12s, 1-2 8s, a few proficiencies and some tools.
But frogs cant attack
I feel like they should not be able to get one-shot by 1st level monks... I’ve been giving them 7 hit points
zanir24: You are using 3.5 this is 5e
I mean, a regular person can be fairly easily killed in a single punch.
If this guy gets bit by a cat 4 times, DEAD
I mean, of course they’re weak, they’re just regular folks. If you hit a regular, unarmored person with a sword, they are going to die. Even a 1st level adventurer has some amount of training, armor and expertise.
It takes 254 commoners to kill a level 20 character. According to the Encounter Builder, anyway. It would probably be closer to 1,000,000,000,000,000 (one quadrillion). And there aren't quite that many people.
