Amphibious. The giant can breathe air and water.
Multiattack. The giant makes two Greatsword attacks.
Greatsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 30 (6d6 + 9) slashing damage.
Rock. Ranged Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, range 60/240 ft., one target. Hit: 35 (4d12 + 9) bludgeoning damage.
Lightning Strike (Recharge 5–6). The giant hurls a magical lightning bolt at a point it can see within 500 feet of it. Each creature within 10 feet of that point must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw, taking 54 (12d8) lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Spellcasting. The giant casts one of the following spells, requiring no material spell components and using Charisma as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 17):
At will: detect magic, levitate, light
1/day each: control weather (cast as 1 action), water breathing
i am thor
So this is what Ragnarok looks like.......
No that was a fire giant, psh didn't even watch the movie
I did watch it. But I guess you're right. Giants in general take a ton of inspiration from Norse Mythology, especially Frost and Fire giants. So I guess I'm wrong.
Sorry, just a bit of a stickler, i didn't mean to come off as a d-wad.
It's whatever man. Let's just appreciate how badass DND Giants are.
oh for sure
These comments are so wholesome.
Despite being 1% of fahrun's creatures, Storm Giants make up for 50% of the badassery.
Storm Giants are absolute chads compared to every other giant, look at that strength score compared to a Hill Giant's
Well, that's kinda like comparing a Herculean half-god to an idiotic glue-sniffer, but I see the logic.
storm giants are not as badass as gelatinous cubes or flail snails
the storm giant than says about his ogre buddy "He's a friend from work!"
really wonder why in lore storm giant is as smart and power as divination spell but in game he isn't
=> this must be a big nerft for storm giant :)))
Ragnarok isn't a person or creature, it's an event in Norse mythology that brings the extinction of the gods. Even in the MCU movie there is no character called Ragnarok. Your thinking of Surtur the fire giant.
There was a character called Ragnarok in Marvel comics though, he was an evil Thor robot
Man this comment is so pedantic
Those are some seriously strange spells, though. Who casts "water breathing" three times in one day? Or "control weather" for that matter?
These guys need a magic upgrade, IMO.
I think the control weather is to simulate that storms follow them, basically as they move the storm follows so it's more for flair than anything IMO. As for the water breathing I have no argument.
I completely agree, their Amphibious, they don't need to cast water breathing.
