A bright streak flashes from your pointing finger to a point you choose within range and then blossoms with a low roar into an explosion of flame. Each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 8d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
The fire spreads around corners. It ignites flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.
* - (a tiny ball of bat guano and sulfur)
it would be up to the DMs discresion
just wiped out entire 2nd levelparty this spell sucks
So that the only monk in existence can flex on his team.
FOR FIREBAAAAAALLLL!!!!!!!!!!
The caster's spellcasting save DC
In what world are 8 CR 1/4 beasts A: hitting anything with their attacks past about level 5 B: dealing anywhere near as much burst damage as fireball?
Now imagine it as a 12 level spell with a 17d6 damage roll
If two spell casters cast fireball on the same area, do the creatures in that area take damage from both fireballs or just the more damaging one?
brooooo
Magical Secrets dude, but otherwise, no
It does if you use the UA version of it. Here ye go
I believe there is a better spell than Fireball, and that is Delayed Blast Fireball.
Cuz why the heck not?
Just blew my mind. I believe you are breaking D&D, my friend, as the Net does say. But, it really depends on the discretion of your DM, as some might allow the net to be immune to Fireball, while others will have you make the save but still be restrained, granting you disadvantage. I know that's what I would do unless I am about to commit a TPK.
You tell 'em.
It would be up to your DM, but like my creation, the Tyrannax Rex, I would say that if one creature would be affected by multiple fireballs at the same time, then they would only be affected once. However, if they were cast one after the other(E.G. Casting Delayed Blast Fireball and waiting until it's 1 turn away from detonating and then casting Fireball, doing a one-two Fireball), then I would allow it.
components are only consumed if they specify they are consumed, an example being revivify, it's material cost is specified as "diamonds worth 300 gp, which the spell consumes", meanwhile a spell like fireball's material component is specified as "a tiny ball of bat guano and sulfur", meaning it isnt consumed
thanks
Most DMs purportedly don't like you summoning 8 random little critters into every given fight, is why people sleep on conjure animals.
Let it be known that the great wizard fizban the fabulous, a literal avatar of bahamut, casts this spell in crowded rooms full of his allies. If that doesn't assure you that this spell is perfect for every situation, nothing will.
