I have bought Xanathar's Guide and i am manually copying all the spells in homebrew spells in order to allow my players to play with them in my campaign (so they must see my homebrew spells in their spell list).
For the cantrips its working. For exemple, i can see Toll the Dead in the sheet of my cleric player. But for the spells that require spell slots they are not displayed in the spell list of my player. Exemple : ceremony wich is a 1st level spell is not in the spell list while i'm sure that i've linked it with the cleric spell list.
I've tried to implement them in the Additional specific spell field for the homebrew subclass i've created but it isn't working either.

I don't know how i can share the link of the spell here (because it's "currently too similar..." so i can't share it with community).
If someone know how to fix that (i've searched on many different threads and none has the answer i expected).
Just hit “View Details Page,” copy the URL, and paste it in a reply in this thread. Even if it is unpublished the Mods will be able to see it.
Just in case you were unaware, if you or anyone else in the campaign can enable Content Sharing for the campaign then they will all get to use you copy of Xanathar’s without the need for all that extra work.
I have been making a couple of the spells from the PHB to share them since no one in my group can afford to pay for the books and through testing some of the spells i've made refuse to show for the people in the same campaign. These include any paladin spells, all but one druid spell and others. I cant find the connection between the spells and they show up for some classes but not others. I even tested with a second account and added them to a separate campaign with homebrew enabled and that account also has the same problems.
Make sure the spells are in your collection, the characters are in your campaigns, and have homebrew content enabled (usually red).
If that doesn't work, I hate to say it, but you will probably have to post links to these spells for a Mod to find your mistake. Don't publish homebrew versions of official content.
I still dont know the exact problem but it seems the problem only occurs with one campaign so ill just delete and re-make it and see if that solves the problem.
I created a bunch of homebrew spells for a player who want to play a purely water based druid, and only the cantrips show up for my players, everything else is missing.
They don’t have to be public for a moderator to look at them. I’m not a mod, but my asking you to post saves the moderators time:they don’t have to ask and then wait for your reply.
If I create a character, everything works, this only happens for player created characters. Content sharing is enabled in my campaign, and homebrew content is ticked on for every character.
I added spells to some class lists by "homebrewing" copies and editing the "Available for Classes" field. It works fine when I add Bard or Ranger to the list (players see the spell as available), but not when I add Paladin or Druid. In the example below I "homebrewed" a copy of Augury and entered all 4 classes to the Available field. All players are in the same campaign, all players have Homebrew Content turned ON.
I've created a copy of the domain (Nature domain in this case) and added the additional features, but I can't get the spells to work right. Adding them to the additional spells field makes them always prepared like domain spells, so that doesn't work, and adding it as a class feature seems to have the same effect for some reason while also adding a drop-down to the feature in the character building, despite me not checking the box saying the Class Feature has options. I'm just trying to make these spells known to the character but not necessarily prepared; how exactly do I do that?
Did you add them to the 'Additional Specific Spells' section? I did the same thing for the bard spell list by making a copy of College of Lore. I added the spells to the following section and they appeared fire:
That'd work for a bard because they know their spells. Clerics prepare their spells, so anything you want Clerics to optionally have, as opposed to have always prepared, you can't attach the subclass to. What you want to do is create a copy of the spell, and in the 'available to classes' section, select 'Cleric.' Not 'Cleric-N Domain,' that'll auto-prepare it. You don't need to do anything to the subclass.
Be aware, since the character sheet upgrade, I've been having a weird issue where sometimes a homebrew spell will auto-prepare regardless, so do report that if you see it, but I think that's on the subclass homebrew end, not the spell homebrew end, so if you're working with a regular subclass and just adding in the UA list of spells, you should be OK.
Have a homebrew spell, Protection from Negative Energy, enabled in my game and it isn't appearing in the list for the Paladin or Cleric in my campaign.
After testing a bit here's what's been found:
-Creating a COPY_OF_ version or attempting to create any new spell that is selectable by paladin or cleric isn't appearing for them.
-Even attempting to create both COPY_OF_ versions and manually copying versions of existing spells (Tested with Protection from Evil and Good) will not allow Clerics and Paladins to see homebrew spells from their selectable list.
-For both the attempted copies and the original, adding classes that can take it (Tested it on Sorcerer and Ranger in our group) seems to work perfectly fine.
-Creating a new character on my own account DOES allow the spell to be seen and taken by Clerics and Paladins.
Sharing content is on obviously and it seems to take issues with the casters that require spells to be prepared in a campaign? Any assistance or if it's a legitimate bug would be greatly appreciated!
I did as you suggested, creating a copy of each spell with a "(Cleric UA)" attached to the name, but none of the spell copies appear in the list of known spells in the character creator.
EDIT: The spells existed in the list, but as soon as my player claimed the character, the spells disappeared. Any idea what's going on here?
Hmm, I've always made them for myself, not for another person. Homebrew ought to automatically be shared in a campaign, and you obviously had homebrew turned on on the character sheet in order to make them. The only obvious thing I can think of is to double check that homebrew is still turned on in the character sheet. Also maybe check and make sure they're not available from the 'manage spells' sidebar on the character sheet? I don't think that they'd be there but not in the builder, but I could be wrong...

Happy to help. (That’s part of why I only buy here and not physical anymore.)

Ok, so I added a few homebrew spells from other users as well and they sometimes show up and sometimes don't
