i am not looking for infused magic items that are merely good magic items here, if i wanted to get a pair of googles of night or a bag of holding i would simply use the crafting rules to get a pair or go on a quest to get them. Rather i am looking for infusions that are made so much better because they are infusions, ether because they make for great spell casting focus like the mighty infused focus or the humble and easy to hide charlatan's dice or ring water breathing, or that are made much better becuase you can re infuse it every long rest like magic items that recharge their charges slowly or the resistant armor whose resistances (and what armor it is applied to) can change to better adapt to whatever foes you are dealing with at the moment or even just straight up consumable items like perfume of bewitching or bead of refreshment. So then what do you think would be some of the most useful infusions in terms of how much better it becomes by being an infusion?

A common magical item from Xanathar's Guide that lasts for an hour, giving you advantage on Charisma checks against any humanoid with CR 1 or lower. I.e. many normal, ordinary everyday sorts of townsfolk that you might need to buy from, or various low-level guards you may want to hornswoggle, or any number of other Regular Folk. Normally, a one-shot consumable whatsit that costs fifty freaking GP or consumes better loot. As an infusion? You get one dose a day which costs whatever a vial of perfume costs; 5gp standard base price, less if you con the DM into saying you can use alchemist's or herbalist's supplies to make the base perfume, too.
Stand down your weapon infusion when you're in town and arm up for Social Combat, instead.
The Bag of Holding infusion is useful, you just need another bag in order to replicate the Bag of Holding. This is very useful, because if you lose the bag of holding, or it breaks, or you purposefully use it to create astral plane portals, you can just create another bag of holding during a long rest.

yeah but like i said, i can just like make an ordinary bag of holding with some time and gold, to even use an bag as a time bomb you need another extradimensional space, so it just does not seem worthwhile. Could make a fun spellcasting focus by saying that you grab items and inventions from the bag and throw them at your foes

In terms of 'would make a good spellcasting focus', it's hard to beat Gloves of Thievery. At least RAW. They're invisible when worn and no sane DM would they interfere with anything else you can do with your hands; you basically get the 'Cast while holding stuff' aspect of War Caster for freebies. How an artificer would spin that, I dunno. But by RAW it works.
Hm. Missed that the perfume was already mentioned in the first post. My bad. Nevertheless, highly recommended.
Beyond that, not many of the artificer's infusions gain especial extra benefit from being an infusion. Resistance armor is a good option, aforementioned consumable goodness. Winged Boots would be another one, in the vein of "recharges slowly". Once your four hours of flight are expended you have to wait a full twenty-four hours before getting it back...or you just redo the boots after a long rest. Admittedly, some DMs are going to squinty-eye that sort of chicanery, but RAW it's a thing.
The other bit, of course, is that infusions allow you to sell "magic items" to stupid people over and over again, if you're a duplicitous and uncouth sort of artificer who uses their powers for the fleecing of rubes. But surely nobody here would stoop so low as to twist SCIENCE for their own gain...right? o_o...

Really getting into the Tony Stark image of an Artificer by putting on gloves that help them work their magic.

What? Would that happen? Is there a thread that would possibly lead to that kind of discussion on these forums?
How about Horn of Silent Alarm? You may typically only need one, but what if you need to split up? You would then your Horn and they would have theirs? Then you can signal each other without stressing about others hearing. Even better, couple it with Alarm to have a binary way to communicate with each other. Horn of Silent Alarm could mean "It's ok to advance." from the advance party or "We're advancing" from the trailing party. The advance party could have someone cast Alarm and the rear party could trigger it if they are attacked and need help. Not as interesting if telepathy or familiars are in play, but could still be useful.
My assumption is that the question is asking for items in which the ability to "remake" the item is intrinsically valuable to the item. Horns of Silent Alarm are an excellent and deeply underrated piece of kit, but I can't see where knowing it as an infusion makes it better than simply making one for everybody in your party.

It is definitely better to make a bag of holding with an infusion instead of a time and gold. First, it only takes a long rest. Second, it can be replaced easily. Third, it can be used as a spellcasting focus (but this is do different from any other infusion) and is overall better than a typical bag of holding.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
My main recommendation is an Enhanced Arcane Focus combined with a Wand Sheath, but you either have to be a warforged or level 14. (either buy, make, or use an infusion to get a wand sheath)
So, first, attune to the wand sheath. Then take any old wand and turn it into an Enhanced Arcane Focus, and stick it in your wand sheath. Now, you have a spellcasting focus that it counts as you holding it without actually having to hold anything.

technically the wandless sheath itself should also be able to be used as an spellcasting focus, and i am extra certain it is more worth to not pick that as an infusion, common magic items are particularly cheap and easy to manifacture, an wand sheath is completely impossible to loose track of since it is literally attached to your body, unless you like loose the arm it is on (and by then you have bigger problems than loosing a common magic item) and using both of your very limited infusion slots just so you can get an +1 to attack rolls while you are grappling / weilding a gun / whatever

while wearing the gloves, are you considered to be holding it? the tools required section says you only need to have the item "in hand", but that might be merely to satisfy the need for tools and not actually to use a focus to say replace an generic component

reminds me of the jawa from star wars, crafty fellows who scavenge the sands of tatooine, or who use advanced borrowing to get some pieces of technology, and then they are really good at technology as to create repairs that break apart just as their sand crawler has passed the horizon to go con some other moisture farmer, maybe you could do something similar with kobolds in dnd?

Yes, a Wand Sheath could be used as a spellcasting focus, but only when you're holding it in your hands, and not attached to your body. This combination only works if the wand sheath is attached to your arm with a wand that you have as an infusion in that sheath. This combination is great for Artillerists and Battle Smiths, because it allows you to have other objects in your hands when you cast spells.

Counterpoint if I may, Levi: Infusions are precious and shouldn't be used on shit that's easy to make or obtain otherwise - or shit that you can change in and out as needed, unlike the bag of holding. I can dig the idea of using the Bag of Holding as a spellcasting focus, throwing stuff you yank from the bag, but I would much rather reserve my infusions for stuff I'm not likely to find in a game anyways.
Not that I don't use the BoH infusion as an ironclad, never-changing thing until I get a regular BoH, but I hate having one of my infusion slots locked down Permanently And Forever on something I can't deactivate without losing five hundred pounds of stuff.

Yes, I agree. I as an Artificer would likely have Replicate Bag of Holding only as a known infusion that I'd only learn when I know I'm going to need it. If you don't have any other bags of holding, it can help you out of tricky situations, but is by no means the best use of an infusion. I way rather would do the Enhanced Arcane Focus with Wand Sheath than a Bag of Holding, although the visual of a bag of holding as a spellcasting focus is nice.

This one's a big stretch but the Ring of Mind shielding being an infusion gives a logical basis for an argument towards being able to cast spells while dead.
It's a spellcasting focus, it's worn on a finger making it a spellcasting focus quite literally in hand, albeit it's not your hand but a hand belonging to someone you can telepathically communicate with and the ring is in direct contact with your soul so the idea would be using that other person wearing your ring (and thus you) as a conduit for spellcasting.
Granted, it's really easy to shut down that argument. But it would be a rather cool storytelling scenario.

when you die, all your infusions fade over a number of days equal to your intelegence modifier, unless you make the argument that since your mind is in the ring that you are not truly dead, the ring would eventiually fail you

That just means it has a time limit (max 5 days) which just increases it's story potential and discourages permanent misuse. It's also a means by which a player's character can remain relevant while the party seeks a method to revive them, instead of merely being a disembodied voice in someone's head.
I mean if your goal is to just have that character permanently exist inside a ring then yes, the non-infusion ring is better.
