Got a low magic one shot coming up, that mashes adventure in middle earth classes into a standard 5e game. Hoping to make an unarmed brawler/staff user, based on the slayer(barbarian). The subclasses in the book might not fit well with the game and the dm has suggested that there is some wiggle room for home brewing to get things running smoothly.
With neither of the sub classes offering appropriate features I was wondering if combining two of the level 3 Scag totems would be appropriate or if it would be too imbalanced. I'm hoping to mix tiger and elk for improved speed and jump distance to make a more nimble/mobile character.
I can understand that the "go to" reaction is "of course not, how can two totems balance one?" but in my opinion bear and perhaps wolf would still outclass it.
Of course it will depend on dm's fiat but figured I'd give it a first pass here.
It's a one shot I tend to give a lot more leeway with what is possible for those since it's not going to be a long term ongoing campaign and it just for fun to try things.
Hi all,

As those are 2 of the weaker totems, I could see a DM allowing it. It is up to DM though.

I would probably say +10 foot movement, and then +5/3 jump distance
