I've created an item that should add 2 to the Charisma score, up to a max of 24 (based on sample artifacts). When, I add this modification to the item, it remains at 20 on the character sheet. The item is equipped and attuned. If I click on the Charisma ability score, it shows the breakdown of all the ability details: 16 base score, 2 from racial bonus, 2 from ability improvements, 2 from "Misc Bonus", which should be 22.
I even loaded a copy of another artifact (Axe of the Dwarvish Lords) that gives a +2 to Constitution to make sure I was doing correctly, and the set up is identical.
Hi, I know this thread's over a year old, but I'm having this exact problem. I'm making a "copy" of an existing homebrew someone made that also doesn't work to add +5 CHA (and a curse). My character's not exceeding 20. Can you tell me what modifiers I need to get this right? Or a screen-cap would help.
Hello! I have created an item that should be raising the character's strength score by 2, and it's not working. I did the "Bonus - Strength Score, fixed value 2" modifier but it's not working when the character attuned to the item. (His strength score is 17, and it isn't changing.) I have tried lots of things to get it to work but am out of ideas. Please help!
Also, remember to click 'Save' on your homebrew after adding any modifiers, etc... But changes to homebrew can take 15-20 minutes to appear on your character sheet due to caching. It may be working now, if you check it!
The same way that a flame tongue adds an additional 2d6. But it won’t add the rolls together automatically, the player will still have to remember to roll the additional 1d8 separately and add it in for themselves.
There’s an “Ignore Weapon Property” Modifier, but if I recall the Subtypes don’t include Ammunition for some reason, either that or Loading, one or the other. 🤷♂️ I forget which.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Please link the item and a moderator can take a look for you.
Note - you do not need to publish it.

You were missing a modifier to increase the maximum possible ability score.
Based on your initial post, I have added one for you to your item, increasing the maximum charisma possible to 24.

Ah, thank you. What section was that located in?
Nevermind. I see what you did. Thank you again!

Thanks.
Add a couple of modifiers - one to increase the maximum possible ability score and the other to increase the score:
Your modifiers sections should look like this now:

Thanks so much! I didn't even notice that sub-type, I was so focused on the primary modifier category.

Does the character have an item like Gauntlets of Ogre Strength which sets strength to a specific value that cannot be be added upon?

I have a homebrew item that sets the strength to 20 unless it is already higher, how do i set that?
The exact same way the the Gauntlets of Ogre Power do it. Make an item using those as a template and just change the number.

Cool, i have one more issue how can i give an addition 1d8 to a magic weapon.

Is there no way to change the damage to be 2d8 instead of 1d8?
No, there is not.

Ok, kind of figured a way, i made it a revolver which is base 2d8, (this is maddening) but how do i make it ignore ammunition?
