First and foremost great job on this whole thing! this is exactly what i've been waiting for. quick question tho, can i edit my hit points? when i created my character i choose the manual enter option but dont see anywhere to adjust the default hp its giving me for my level. again great work!
Thanks for that. I did find it. Am I wrong in remembering that there was once a UI element where you could enter your HP roll per level? It would show a history of your base HP per level.
What is the difference between manual and fixed hit points?
Manual means that you intend to roll you Hit Points for the level manually and enter them. Say your Hit Die is a d8, you would roll 1d8 and add the result every level-up. The average is 4.5 so you’re basically gambling that you’re going to roll a 5-8, and the risk is you might roll a 1-4 instead. But on average, you’ll roll between 4 and 5 when the campaign is over. For fixed, you just take the flat number just above average whenever you level. So, going back to that d8 hit die, you would just take a flat 5 every level. If your Hit Die is a d10, it would be 6, for a d6, it’s 4. Of course, the system also adds your Constitution modifier every level-up too, that goes for both Manual and Fixed.

I, too, am interested in this question. I created my level 7 character, but it still says 10 hp? I'm not sure how to change it.
Also having problems finding this feature. It must be there somewhere!
When viewing the character sheet for your character:
If you're looking for how to change your character between Fixed and Manual HP, then do the following:

The user interface on D&D Beyond doesn't (and hasn't) work in that way.
It's a neat idea though!
