I have made my first character, input all appropriate data, but for some reason the damage on certain weapon attacks is calculating higher than it should.
Dex mod of +4 and proficiency +2, archery FS - all that works correctly with the longbow and shortswords having +8 / +6 to attack. However it is giving those weapons a damage increase of +6. No idea where this is coming from as it should only be based on my Dex and be +4.
Looking at the character sheet - I see that it looks like you're using a subclass variant of the Ranger (Deep Stalker Ranger Revised) - and part of the "Revised - Favored Enemy" feature indicates that there's a +2 to dmg (at least according to the description). While I can't view the actual homebrew itself, I would check there to see if the feature is providing you a +2 bonus to your weapon attacks.
Yeah that was my first thought as well but I already tried disabling it (unselecting a favored enemy type).
I just went one step further and leveled down the whole build so it no longer even picks up that feature, but alas it is still showing 1d8+6 on the damage for my base weapons.

I noticed that those weapons have an asterisk. Have they been customized to add a 2 point bonus to attack and damage rolls?

Nope, only customization I added was a text note that says +2 damage to humanoids (as a reminder to myself). I didn't touch the actual damage modifier box. I could put a -2 in there as a workaround, but that seems like it shouldnt be necessary?
I'm also now noticing that even my Unarmed strikes are listed as doing 3 damage, which shouldn't be because i have a 0 mod in strength. So maybe it is somehow the interaction of the homebrew thats auto-applying it?
Edit: Also, kind of an aside - but is it normal to be getting those stupid 403 errors every 5 minutes when trying to edit stuff? It seems intermittent, but quite regularly its pushing back and not letting me save changes.

If possible, can you link the revised ranger homebrew so that I'd be able to take a look at that as well? It doesn't need to be made public for a forum mod such as myself to view it.
Sure, not sure how to do that or where to find it TBH. It was generated by my DM for me and he just transcribed straight from the original UA Revised Ranger as far as I know.
Will I have access to a homebrew he created, other than by using it?

Unfortunately, he'd need to provide a direct link to it for me to be able to see it. You could also try making a copy of your character and replace the revised ranger class levels with the normal ranger levels to see if it continues normally.
Ok looks like we got it fixed. It was indeed an error on his side with the formatting that was applying a flat +2 dmg instead of just the specific type selection (which can just be tagged in notes).
It’s your fighting style (dueling). Because you haven’t marked anything as “duel wield,” the sheet is assuming you only have one weapon in your hand at a time.

Thanks for the help though!
