My group is saying my hit points should be 33 when using fixed hit points but they are 27. Is beyond right or is my group right?
That all depends on what character you are talking about at what level of what class and with what Constitution score. You’re going to have to be a bit more specific. Try posting a link to your character.
27 is correct. With a Constitution modifier, of +3, you get 3 HP per level. As a Monk you have a 1d8 Hit Die. At 1st level you get Max HP from the die +3 from your Con. At 2nd and 3rd levels you’ll get 1d8/2 (5) HP +3 from Con per level. So:
11
+8
+8
=27 HP total
It would only be 33 if you had a 1d10 Hit Die like a Fighter or Paladin or Ranger.
If your DM is making a rule that you get the highest number on your die every time you level up and 'roll' for HP (ie, instead of rolling you just get 8, like at first level), then yes, you would have 33, as that would be (8+3)x3. But that would be a house rule, not using fixed HP. Fixed HP would be 27. I'd say clarify with your DM what he wants: use fixed HP, or roll for HP and automatically grant everyone the max on the rolled die.

Cool thanks, the reason I’m confused is the Dungeon Master wants everyone to be max hit points (total possible)
