So I'm making a homebrew race and have a list of 4 proficiencies where my players can choose 2 of them. I used "Options" on the feature and in "Character levels where options known" I put 0,0 . However, it only gives me the option to select 1 of the options instead of 2.
I've noticed that unless I change it to 1,1 and put a level into a class, then I am unable to pick 2 options. Is there a way to fix this?
There is not such thing as a level 0 character. If you want two options to be selectable at character creation, use 1,1
The problem I'm having with that is that 1,1 forces players to select a class before they can pick 2 options. I'd like all options to be available without having to put a level into a class since race comes before class when making a character.
That's not how the system works unfortunately, the character sheet doesn't recognise level 0 regardless of the order it lists things in.
An alternative is to add the option feature twice, each one letting you select from the four proficiencies. This will make them available at 'level 0' but won't be as pretty.
