It will be cool if You add Magic Items with charges to Actions Tab, or make "New Dawn" option to Long Rest, becose now recharging Magic Items with Dawn based charge refreshment in inventory is very clumsily, and not easy to use.
I dont know why they didn't just leave the recharge as long rest, most long rests are overnight anyway and if a party does a daytime long rest its a whole lot less work for this tiny edge case to take the work of clicking a few boxes than the majority of the population having a pain point.
I think it would be helpful to add a Find Steed/Familiar/Steed section, with stats and whatnot. Also, in the Channel Divinity section of Limited Use abilities, it doesn't actually list the two uses for it. It's under class features, but I'd like to be able to view it from the section I'm actually using it from, rather than clicking around trying to find it to clarify something I don't remember.
The familiar/steed/wildshape stuff is coming, it was mentioned on the dev livestream.
1. I love it, looks great, love the new format and the extra page.
The critique: Please code the exporting function to include auto font resizing for every single field yielded in the output to PDF. Please do this, like super please, like an OMG please. There is precious real estate that is not being used that could save a readers eyes from early blindness! For reals though, talk to the coders, please have this added as a defect or enhancement super duper please pants?
So far, my players love the new sheets. I have one piece of feedback so far. It's a minor thing, but it really bugs the heck out of me.
The snippet code for ability score modifiers ( {{modifier:con}} ) seems to always add a + before the result. This leads to some awkward snippets. For example:
Crushing Grip
When you grapple a creature, you may choose to deal +2 bludgeoning damage to the grappled creature.
Exoskeleton
When you are damaged by a spell or attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage rolls of +1 dice to 1.
These examples are pulled from my crab hengeyokai home-brew subrace. Both of those are done using the {{modifier:str}} and {{modifier:con}} snippet codes. I would really like them to not automatically include a + in the result, as the + doesn't really make things clear for Crushing Grip (it reads as though grappling already does damage) or Exoskeleton (it reads as though there's already a set amount of dice you can reduce to 1 somewhere).
Would this be difficult to do, or is there an existing snippet code I can use to drop the + that I'm not aware of?

And I'm back from the beach, but not really doing much until Monday.

As someone who makes Acrobat forms, unfortunately it’s not that simple. Auto text resizing is dumb, it doesn’t work on multi-line fields and you’d end up displaying type at gigantic sizes until you add enough text. Curse have done well within the massive limitations of PDF forms.
If only there were another way for them to make character sheets printable so that the font was in a more reasonable size. I really want to use this, but I literally can't read the font on the PDF.
Possible Bug: When I use the Long Rest feature on my Sorcerer, it resets my HP, Spell Slots, and it says Font of Magic - but my Sorcery Points do not change at all.
Nevermind, I just needed to hit the Confirm button in the countdown. That's new.
The one thing missing that I'd like to see is that any "other possessions" do not show up anywhere on the exported sheet. I'm not going to go through the effort of creating custom items for all of the random non-magical stuff (hides, teeth, rocks, etc) that my players pick up so that it shows up on their character sheets.
Other Possessions is a tab under Equipment.
Yep and that'd great, but as I noted above, it doesn't show up on the exported PDF

As others have noted, PDF forms are challenging, but we are taking a look at how we can increase font sizes as much as possible.

Is there another format that could be used? Like, instead of parsing the character sheet directly to a PDF file that is viewed in the browser, just make it look like a character sheet on a PDF in the browser, but work in concert with the browser to be printable to PDF? I'm sure I've seen this done somewhere but not with character sheets, but still with editable fields in the resulting PDF. I'm not a coder of any stripe, though, so maybe that's not possible, in which case, feel free to tell me I'm dreamin'.

Another thought on this, BadEye, it may be easier to output a word document, or open office document, and let people print them to PDFs from there? *shrug*
I’m well aware of the nightmare PDFs can be... ugh

It's just they took a useable, but problematic experience and made into one I can't use at all and did so without any warning. (Which is one of my least favorite aspects of SAAS product tbh, but I digress.)
I don't know anything about coding, so when you're making lots of words about something I don't know, you want to make sure the parts I DO know are correct. Adam has given us sneakpeaks of the new pages for at least 3 or 4 months. You've come on here with, like, 5 posts.
I would love the ability to apply levels of exhaustion rather than just an on/off switch. Being able to set a certain level and have it mark what I have exhaustion on would be amazing
Can you add custom languages/proficiencies alongside the list of official options when creating a character? Or else the option to remove proficiencies in the same section we create the custom ones.
I use Human as a racial language, because it's weird they only speak the trade tongue, and have the half-elves/orcs at my table choose between which racial language they start with in addition to common.
I know how to add an additional custom language, but I can find no way of swapping a language that's already known for something different instead. Is there already a way to do this that I'm just not seeing?

The problem is with form fillable PDFs. Yes, you can render the text into the page as a graphic, or keep it as formatted text, but when you also want to make it modifiable by the end-user, that's where PDFs make things really challenging.
Now, you can question how useful form fillable PDF export is, but my guess is that losing that functionality is not desirable.

Yeah I’m sure Curse have thought long and hard about this, and kept with an editable PDF for offline editing. Maybe when they add the character sheet into the app that will become redundant. Otherwise, there’s really no need for the PDF to be editable, if you’re online just use the website character sheet. And if you want a printed sheet, there’s no need for editable fields, you just scribble on your printouts.
My hunch would be that users would be willing to trade away the PDF editability for something that has better formatting. Most people are online these days and can just edit in the website and hit print again, and again. Maybe Adam should do a poll and ask how many people are actually editing their PDFs. Personally, I don’t because as soon as you do, your online sheet is out of sync.

And I'm back from the beach, but not really doing much until Monday.
You can use the following to control the display:
{{modifier:str#unsigned}}
Let us know if that doesn't do the trick.
Worked like a charm. Thanks, Adam!
