So I forgot my iPad last night and had to use my iPhone. I was pleasantly surprised by an awesome scroll wheel to quickly change HP. I thought it was a new feature but looking for it on my iPad results in just buttons to press for up and down as it always has. The problem I’ve always encountered is if you press it more than once too quickly (for 2 HP let’s say) the iPad thinks you want to zoom.
I would love love the scroll wheel on the iPad too.
I had the same issue with zooming, and found that just typing the amount in the field on the main sheet and tapping Heal or Damage was easier and fewer taps. The scroll wheel would be great.
I'd just want to be able to use the D&D Beyond app for characters as well. Wifi isn't always available so having a way to save a file the app can open, or just having it in the app itself would be amazing. I understand a lot of people have internet access while they play, so I get why it isn't a thing, but with the other 3rd apps that can do this already, I'm surprised it hasn't been made officially yet.

Adding the character sheet to the roadmap is on the roadmap, it's just not out yet. The app was launched much later than the website interface, and is considered to still be in beta. The order of feature release is, if my memory is correct, the same as the beta period for the website was: compendium, listings, character sheets. Listings were added October 16. character sheets will be eventually, but I would guess not until sometime in 2019. While I'm blessed to have wifi where I play, I understand the frustration with not having off line access to the character sheet yet.
I love the creatures tab. Is there any way to translate that to the pdf export? As it is now I have to copy and paste it too the notes section, which involves a lot of clean up and takes up at least half a notes section per entry. I would love to see a separate page added to the pdf just for creatures.
Also, it would be nice if magic item descriptions were included in the features block of the PDF export. These are in the dmg, which many players don't own, so they have to be manually entered in the notes section.
Pertaining to pact of the tome warlock. I like the way you handled the ancient book of secrets spell list. However, When it gets displayed both in the digital sheet and the exported PDF, there is no differentiation between the warlock's known spells and the spells that can only be cast as rituals.
Super job, btw, in making this sheet. I often wonder if certain aspects of a character are going to be handled well, and 95 percent of the time it is perfect, which is much more often than I expect given the robust nature of the game. Kudos to the dev team.
I'm playing in a campaign where my character has a sprite familiar but it gains new abilities and gets stronger as I level up. Will we ever be able to make completely custom creatures?

You can already do that with the Homebrew Monster toolset. You can then upload the homebrew monster as Creature on the sheet.
I wish that for monks, Ki was organized more like Spells. The information right now is so disjointed and all over the place in the different columns for features/traits and actions.
Can we please have persistent back/forward buttons on the sidebar?
I know they pop up already for items with spells, but I'm talking about a system where you could flick back through all the sidebars you've had open recently. I was playing my druid last night and using Wild Shape a lot (not Wildshape btw, that doesn't exist). Every time I wanted to skip across to look at spells etc, it would be a lot of faffing around to get back to the beast stats that I needed. If there was a simple back button at the top of the sidebar, I could look at a spell, then hit back to get to the creature I was using?

If you check several spells or features, it would take several clicks on 'back' to get to your original content, and thinking how that element would now track its history, it's way too much effort (programming-wise) for very little gain. Personally I would rather benefit from keeping two things on screen - one constantly, and one more ad hoc.
I think having a box under the current joint action/spells/etc box where I could pin one entity (spell or creature, maybe an attack, ability or feat) to show would be way better. That way you could keep your beastform stats on screen, or I could pin Call Lightning or other long duration spell pinned while it's needed, and still be able to look up the details on other spells or elements; and the box could fully disappear if I unpin the current content. While I know it wouldn't be a very quick fix, it probably wouldn't be more complicated than creating a history for the sidebar, and I think it would have a much better gain of usability. And I wouldn't need to open a new window to keep those details up.

That also sounds great. I actually didn't mind the two-panel setup they had before, but it would have been even better if both panels could have any tab in them.
As far as tapping Back, I see your point but it would still be better than nothing. Ideally, they could capture the hitting of the browser Back button and it'd take you back through your previous open tabs and sidebars, as some other sites do. Hitting Back now is a bit of a disaster in DDB since none of the panels remember what tab you were on.

"Capturing the back button" is a very complicated thing to do, and I really hope they don't do that - if I press the back button in the browser, I expect that I navigate to the previous *page* and not just cause a change on the current page. Changing that behaviour would be a disaster.

But that's how REST websites work. GMail, for example. I like that navigation. It's completely plausible to have a URL that opens Character X with the spell page on.

Show me where in GMail you can use the browser's back button to navigate the content on a popup tooltip and I shall move the world. As a web developer I can tell you, "REST websites" has nothing to do with navigation, it's is a method of transferring data between services... ;)

As a workaround you could try opening different instances of your sheet in different tabs and then click between them maybe? I haven’t tried it to see if the sidebars stay...

I would LOVE to be able to set up bookmarks/shortcuts to do that. Having the Actions panel open by default is certainly useful, but I'd like to be able to jump straight to Notes>Other for instance.

Gmail isn't quite there but it's close. It's possible to hit back and have it re-open the Compose popover for instance. At the moment the browser back button when using DDB just sits there doing nothing because it's all one "page" that we're loathe to reload because it takes time and resets. Giving the back button some useful functionality ala GSuite wouldn't hurt IMO.

To be honest, I opened up gmail, clicked on things in the sidebar, and the back button didn't even activate. When I clicked on an email and *navigated* to the email view, it appeared.
The browser's navigation buttons are for site navigation. Tooltips and popups are not site navigation. I am glad that of I press the back button, I immediately get back to the character list, or whatever page I was before opening my character, instead of having to navigate back all through the tooltips and sidebars I opened.

My only complaint with the character sheet is that there is no separate inventory for a bag of holding, leomund's secret chest, or the like.
