Hey a great thing to add to dnd beyond would be a "magic item shop" for campaigns. Just a page where DM's can add magic items and prices so players can view through dnd beyond while playing and buy things from the shop. You could even add a limited stock option where DM's can set the amount of items the magic item store has.
Please create a dungeon map tool (hopefully gridded) that can be viewed by everyone in a campaign. Each player could have a model on a map the DM creates or uploads. The DM could apply buffs/debuffs, damage, etc to the model that would interface to the char sheets and apply the effects there as well. Or the player can track that as well and the DM would see it in the tool.
Settings could allow players to hover other other models to see hps, ac, movement, etc.
To have all the tools needed to run an online game smoothly would be AMAZING. Well accept for chat but there is plenty of way to handle communication.
I would be happy to increase my sub payment to include a tool like that.
simple question... Why would you want your players to see the monsters AC or the monsters actual HP ? heck even movement. i mean the only thing i'd want them to see is how much damage was done to said monsters an perhaps conditions as well.
but overall what you are asking for a complete VTT experience. like roll20. that will take a long time and is not something most people want right now. so it might take a long time to get here. its also planned already.
EDIT: you know i just realised that most people who want VTT, seems to enjoy playing board games more then dungeons and dragons. i was playing withmy new group and most of them, i used my TV screen to show them a visual, but i had to remove that from them now, because most of them if not all of them except one, was using the thing as a board game, i move my character from there to there. then i move my character from there to there. and i was like, wt... this is not a board game gang. this is for visual representation not an actual map with peg characters you cna move on, if you wanna play a board game then sorry i'm not the DM for you !
this seem to be reinforced by the fact most of those who play on FG or Roll20 seems to have always a map on and character seems to move their character everytime. i preffer the god old theater of the mind with occasionnal drawings to show people the intricacies of the surroundings. might be just me, but VTT seems to bring D&D to a more board game state which honestly, if i wanted to play a board game i would be playing a board game. there are plenty of good adventure toting board games.

must say that i would love such a thing. but then again, wouldn'T it trivialise the whole process ? i mean i can understand for regular common equipement to be hand aved, but magical items being hand waved seems, less magical in my opinion. also there is no price on magical items so we'd have to make our own, which i like the xanathars guide for its prce range feature whcih i totally added to my own generator. sometimes players seeks something and the price is high, but they run the chance of never finding it afterward. so it makes a great choice.

Why is there a cap to setting attunement slots? Why not allow for whatever creative freedom a DM might have for their high magic campaigns?
I'd like a removal of the cap on attunement slot customization
The only reason it got created at all was to accommodate the Artificer. The cap for the Artificer is 6, so the cap in the system is 6. When WotC (the company that publishes D&D) creates something with 7+ Attunement Slots, that’s when DDB will increase the cap.

The problem with that is that official D&D has a price on only one magical item: The Potion of Healing. That is by design. So, D&D Beyond will probably not support something like that any time soon. However, I've started down that path and you can see the result in my signature links. You can copy the document and use it for yourself.

I love how many homebrew options people have come up with. Yours is very nice, thank you for sharing!
Once of the features that I really want to see is the implementation of custom lists / group sorting by custom tags in your homebrew lists. That way you could even add stock items to the list and effectively have a store inventory. I would also just like more view options when looking my homebrew collection (group by type, etc.).
I see on your dev roadmap there is a campaign party inventory. That would help solve one of the biggest problems I have, which is one PC giving an item to another PC in the same campaign. Right now, the original owner has to remove it, and the new owner has to search for it, which is a bummer. If there was a command in the item itself to "give to other player", that would be very helpful.

Especially for Artificers to share their Infusions.

The way I would love for it to work is if you could just create a custom list of items, that would mix and match from equipment (where you could accept a default price, or set your own) and magic items (where the default price would be blank, of course). I tend to have shops stocked with mostly non-magic equipment, but then each shop owner has maybe one or two magic things that they have come across over the years. Maybe they are vastly overpriced, because the shop owner has grown attached to them, or maybe because magic items are just that expensive. I also like to mix in a few of my homebrew crappy/useless magic items, as kind of a red herring. For example, the Rope of Rope Entanglement and the Neverend Quiver.
I'd also love to just be able to arrange items into custom lists so I could sort them by campaign, or region, etc. This could also be accomplished by being able to add custom tags to things (at present, I think we can only add from the list of existing tags).
What would be really useful is for DDB to concentrate on its core features of managing a properly searchable compendium and a brilliant character sheet usable during a game.
To help with the character sheet, having spell effect buffs which can be switched on/off that will automatically update the stats on the sheet would be VERY useful (as done by Hero Lab for Pathfinder for years).
What would be cool is if you could home-brew classes on here.
my problem with that, is that everytime i tryed to homebrew a class... i ended up making it just an archetype ! the reality being, next to nothing you will do will be able to compare to the original 12 classes. they al have their pros and cons and all of them are balanced in the way of uniqueness that other classes don't.
an exemple of that would be the pugilist class we've seen on the dmsguild... the more i checked it, the less i saw the need for a full class. it could have just easily been a monk or fighter, or rogue or barbarian archetype. it felt to me like the guy wanted to play all 4 classes without any multiclassing whatsoever. once you start making hybrid classes that takes the features of other classes, you are starting to unbalance the game where a single class just outmatch the others.
Exemple of the crusader back in 3.5e. no more need for a cleric, because he heals while he dps. no more need for a tank, he can heal himself while tanking and taunting. no more need for a paladin, he can use cards and smite on his won. the class was tanking, dpsing and healing at the same time. the class itself could carry the other players easily.
i know most of you think the tome of 9 swords was overpowered, and it was... but that tome was a great exemple of what not to do with a class. the precise reason why there is no prestige classes now and only archetypes. archetypes are versatile enough and yet you are compelled to use the core class still.
the real question you should ask yourself is always... do i really need to make it a class ?

As an older gamer, having started playing DnD in the late 70s, I cannot express more earnestly my desire to have a VTT integrated into DnD Beyond. My close circle of friends have spread across the nation as real life tends to do, yet we still gather weekly to play on discord. Discord provides the communication while your competitors provide the table.
Having a common platform which manages, characters, references, and game play functionality determines where we invest. DnD Beyond provides a great platform for the older model of gathering to play and "players" wishing to cut overhead costs of gaming by sharing books; or to minimize the amount of stuff they have to take to travel to games, as a DM it does not offer enough game play functionality or virtualized gaming groups.
From a life long DM, it does not offer enough tools to make me switch from other platforms; you are losing investment from not having it. I am going to purchase my references to support my table;especially when they are integrated.
While I know some may completely play within a theater of mind style play; the majority of gamers I come across have more hybrid gameplay styles; there's a reason miniatures were born. Combat tracking; visualization of the map, lighting effects are not just aethetics but gameplay enablers.
Anecdotally, how many groups are like ours? One player hosts a campaign (for references purposes only and shares his books.. the rest of us no longer needs to) however we ALL use a VTT; monthly subscriptions from 6 of us go to the VTT; only 1 goes to DnD Beyond.
The market is moving from the community table top to virtualization and online. I want to support DnD Beyond; but the realities of sunk costs (which really is less impacting to a mature gamer with a career and free resources) is something to be considered.
I've looked and didn't see this, but a option under conditions, nor elsewhere that could toggle a barbarian's rage and auto add the +2 damage would be nice. I've had 2 new players be barbarian and constantly had to remind or ask them if they added the extra rage damage.

Add them how and where? Players can add sidekicks in Extras menu; "guides" can be added to the campaign if you build them like PCs.
