So I know the topic has been touched on but I would really love to see Homebrew Classes soon, especially the ability to edit current classes! Great product and can't wait to see how this goes!

Agreed.

When creating homebrew monsters, I can only pick basic monsters as templates. For instance, I can't start with an Alhoon from Volo's (which I do own).
This is true. It is currently that way for any homebrew creation. You can't use purchased content as a template for spells, items, or monsters. You also can't use homebrewed content as templates for a homebrew creation. You can't add purchased spells to a homebrew item or monster. You can't add homebrewed spells to a homebrew item or monster.
Hopefully we will hear from the team soon that they have both decided to allow this, worked out how they want to implement it, and we are just waiting for an update. Several solutions have been proposed. The team is very responsive, but launch did just happen a couple weeks ago, and I think their hands are full. I know they'll take care of us.
I know others have already mentioned editing current classes, but an even smaller ask would be editing domain and patron spells.
Another feature I would love to include is to put restrictions on homebrew spells (only usable by certain wizard schools, cleric domains, or patrons). I love the open architecture of 5e, but I find that having just a small amount of exclusive content for my players dependent upon their area of study or power makes those choices feel far more meaningful - especially for wizard schools.
I'm right there with you on this one. My group is getting ready to start a DarkSun campaign, and would love to be able to use this resource. Alas, until they give us the ability to create homebrew class, race, and equipment, this is just a pretty resource for me to be used very little.
Don't keep your hopes too high for full homebrew classes though, as it has been stated that that would entail a lot of stress on the system and create quite some problems. Subclasses and races should not be an issue, we just have to wait.

Sorry if this was already raised, tried to find it but didn't see much about it. I would really enjoy if it was possible to comment public homebrew like monsters and spells so that we could help each other correct or balance the content.
I know it's been said by many others, many times, but I'd love to see Homebrew for Classes, Subclasses, and Races. I'm well aware that it's something they're Working On™, but it would be great to get some sort of time scale as to when this stuff can be done? I'd love to know, because it's basically my only complaint with the service.
Is it possible to allow homebrew items to apply a negative modifier to ability scores?
I don't see an option for this in the Modifier Type and using a fixed value of "-1" doesn't affect the score (using "1" works normally). I need a wondrous item that will lower ability score values to carry forward on the character sheet.
hi i created the shortsword of accuracy +1 that item give -3AC and -1 on initiative and it work its lower your AC of 3 point and your initiative of 1 point
So while I'm waiting with bated breath for the homebrew races and subclasses, I had a thought on the homebrew classes. It's understandable for the DDB crew to want to hold off on implementing class creation stuff, but what if they went something similar to the roll20 method of allowing for people to access some form of API to set up content. This would cause some need to a bump in security (only saying that because SQL injection may be a thing, not sure what type of database the dev team uses), but considering character features boil down to text with the exclusion of skills, attributes, spells, attacks, and attack like abilities which need some auto calculation, it could be easier to open up the option to the users. Having limited access at first could stop a massive influx of new homebrew classes to allow the team to check if they fit some needed constraints before letting it go to everyone could also help. Just a thought.

Without full homebrew support that provides homebrew content the same level of integration as the official 5E stuff, this site is destined to be nothing more than a digital reference source with limited sharing capabilities, or for people who are only playing the official 5E content with no alterations.
I don't know any GM that doesn't have some combination heavily homebrewed classes, abilities, items, and worlds.
In it's current state, I cannot even run SKT and use this for our character hub as each of my players have tweaks to their classes from the "official" source material. It's unfortunate.

What do we think about a homebrew feats section?
Need Homebrew classes, and Races. Several of my characters are hombrew and I'd love to be able to switch to this new sheet

Homebrew races and classes would be a really great addition, I know a ton of folks use both, as do I so yeah that wouold be awesome!

Hi - apologies if this has been raised before, would be great to be able to add custom skills and languages for characters in a campaign.

Hmmm. An "under construction" kind of semi-publishing that allows for direct feedback?
I can certainly get behind that! :)
I agree that this platform definitely needs homebrew race and class opportunity (maybe much more homebrew contents).
I am just waiting for them to buy the entire content and start using D&D Beyond for my games.
Keep up the good work.
