Yes, I put in "+1,501" to my gold, and it accidentally REPLACED about 2,500 of GP.... now what, I just have to GUESS what I had before? That's not good. I need to know what I had before.
I know this is a wacky suggestion but maybe next time consider the Add and Remove buttons for Adding and Removing the coins.
Probably a bit better than using the totals directly which, being totals, overrides the totals.
Might be better?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is there an API or something that I could use to build an extension for this? I'd love to create a gold Auditer for my campaign.
Even if it doesn't have a note... just to ensure everyone receives and spends gold when it comes up in RP. This would help alleviate some of the mechanics that takes away from RP.

Bumping this for new ownership. Still would be a great feature.

While not necessarily a ledger like the OP is suggesting, I always edit certain items with their value if I know the party is likely to sell them. And any time they obtain something like art objects or gems, I go in and manually edit the item name to include a value description. For instance: Tourmaline (100 gp). The great thing about DnDBeyond is that they have this functionality built into you character sheets, so it makes it easy to customize and keep track of things for everyone in the campaign.
It been mentioned to me by a player who like to track currency , I.E. when you add / remove an optional note or link it to an item.
Then an audit trail so it would read
+100 G Reward
-1 G B&B
-50 G Health Potion.
-100G Magic Armour
+1500 S Bounty
-50 S Stolen
etc
I pesonally like this idea too.
You could do this in notes section.
It would be helpful to be able to have more organized notes pinned to the section of the character sheet they apply to.

The problem was the “+” don’t add that special character in anymore.

There is no public API available at this time.
