When creating a homebrew subclass for personal use, currently we can use existing subclasses as a template, but the recent UA options are not listed as available templates to copy.
My situation: I want to add a new rune to the Rune Knight subclass for Fighter. That's it so far, one additional rune. Because I can't copy the existing Rune Knight (UA) subclass, I'm having to recreate the entire thing from scratch, and struggling to get some of the effects in place. I'd LOVE to copy the existing UA subclass and see how it is done.
Along the same lines, could we please have the subclasses in our collection as available templates?
I made a homebrew version of the Raven Queen UA for the Warlock, and I can't use my own subclass as a template. If I wanted to have a "UA as written" version and a "my homebrew tweaks" version, I'd currently need to start over from scratch.

For that we need a "make copy" button like our character sheets have.
I'm glad I re-created the subclass (though I'm still struggling to get the runes' uses per short rest to show up on the character sheet), because the Rune Knight (UA) option has disappeared from the character creator 🙃.

Really wish we had a 'copy' option.
Rune Knight is still available for me. Are you sure you turned playtest content on?
Not to resurrect a dead thread, but do we have any official answer on why this isn't an option? There's a number of UAs that I'd love to use as templates for my homebrew. I of course have no clue what goes in to making an option template-able, so it may just be a manpower-vs-necessity thing. I'd still love to see it, though. Also, agreed: there's a few things in my collection I'd DIRELY love to tinker with. Since those are already built in-system, I'd think allowing copying might be relatively simple. (But I know nothing about coding)
Here's hoping the new framework update makes this stuff easier or possible down the line.
I thought it was as well. I just went to do this as i have a variant to the Barbarian Wild Soul that i wanted to modify. I guess to the long grind again.
This is so frustrating. Please turn this feature back on. I have a player wishing to use the Ascendant Soul but i'd like to make some minor alterations. Can't do any of it without making an entirely new subclass and try to copy it all over.

Yeah. I second this.

Crap, thank you, that was it. I never turn that off, but the player did when they were initially setting up & I didn't notice.
Still wish I could copy, because I know it's just a matter of time, but very glad to know it's not archived yet.

It used to be possible. It is no longer. 🤷♂️
