Don’t forget that the D&D movie is coming out in less than 3 months. It’s an easy way to vote with your wallet by not seeing it in theaters unless WOTC comes out and announces no change to the 3.5 and 5e OGL. My gaming group has agreed to switch to Numenara or warhammer fantasy if wizards sticks to its path
I do find it... curious how many people's very first posts on these forums, or first post in years, are to say they are leaving
It's hard to know how seriously to take all these "I'm cancelling my sub and never spending a dime on D&D again" announcements when there's little evidence the person was spending anything on it to begin with

I'm 4 books shy of a complete legendary bundle. Sorry, I just don't need the grung or the netherdeep and didn't go for dragonlance. I forget what the 4th book is. Buying the content did not obligate me to appearing here just for your attendance records.
Not cancelling yet---and if they add toggle switches to variant rules and the capability to homebrew rules in DND Beyond, I would most likely become a One DND lifer. Scary times.

I have been a subscriber since D&DB started in August of 2017. With the exception of a couple MtG supplements I skipped, I have purchased every piece of content that has been released.
Unless WotC publishes a statement in the very near future making it clear that the spirit of the original OGL will be supported, I will be cancelling my subscription even though it means walking away from over five years of subscriptions and $934 in content.
I just wanted to comment since your poll is obviously very biased. My group pitched in to buy the books on here so we can share then, therefore i'll stay subscribed to DnDbeyond so i'm not the only one with the books.
I do NOT support the OGL, but i won't unsubscribe.
After reading the OGL 1.1 at ogl.battlezoo.com. I can not stand with WOTC Hasbro or any other company that would attack its own fan base in such a manner. I'm giving WOTC a week to make a statement. If they revoke either of the previous licenses I will be cancelling my subscriptions here. I beg the creatives who are still with the company to get resumes ready to go and shop yourselves out to other markets. We the community know this was not your decision and you are far too talented to work for a company this greedy. I work in banking and we wouldn't even do this. I've been playing dnd since I was 13 and just turned 50 this year it saddens me and enrages me that they learned nothing from the fourth edition debacle. #opendnd
The methodology of your poll is flawed - the editorial contained in the “no” option introduces bias to the poll and is going to dissuade folks who might vote “no” for reasons other than what you have forcibly ascribed to them from voting. All of that skews your results and shows you are less concerned with getting valid answers and more with proselytising.
Personally, I will not be unsubscribing. I don’t make decisions on mere conjecture and, even if it turns out to have some merit, that likely will not limit my or my players’ preference for D&D over other systems.
this POLL is biased. Agree. I would be in the Unsure ... wait and see what it actually means and is used or No. Cause there is still 3rd party content but now its on D&D Beyond where before it would never be.
My perspective has changed a bit since I last posted here, so forgive me for sharing my thoughts once again: These leaks are concerning, but we still don't know for sure whether or not they're accurate. I am going to wait a bit more for Wizards of the Coast to either confirm or deny these rumors before deciding how I plan to proceed. At this point, I think it's likely that these rumors are overblown or inaccurate, but it would be a blow below the belt if they are real and correct. Right now, I think patience is key when deciding whether or not you will continue playing this wonderful game.
If the leaks are true, then I would probably stick with D&D. But I'm not 100% sure. Anyways, all of this depends on whether or not the leaks are true.

As of today, with the full document available, and free to read. I am cancelling my sub to DnDB until that time which WotC Revokes any connection to the current wording of the OGL 1.1
edit: Changed vote to "Yes. As written, I cannot and will not, support a company that proposes this."
Do you have a link to the document that is on a hasbro WotC side or something like that?
Would really like to see the official document before deciding.
There is a copy you can read at ogl.battlezoo.com
Ah ok, thought there was something real official out there.
None the less will I go with what my players think on the matter. With 3 groups and about 20 people, I will not decide alone.
Battle Zoo is one of the major distributors for OGL publications, they are the ones who leaked it, and they are the ones who posted the link to the full document. After Removing the header, because it was sent another content creator. For a big company to post the document, means it's legit, otherwise they would be opening themselves up to litigation.
Hasbro and wotc have been SILENT. Naw. We know 100% the leak is legit.

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
D&D was nothing 20 years ago. Nobody played, nobody cared. A few creative, brilliant “nerds” started creating content about their favorite game and their enthusiasm has proven to be contagious. Now, it’s become a major motion picture and everyone and their grandfather are playing.
Instead of thanking these people for revitalizing a dud product and driving millions to WoTC for material and subscriptions, they’re all getting tossed aside.
WoTC, without the community, your game will wither over time, like it did before.
I was very much playing AD&D in 2002. I was also testing the waters with 3rd edition at that time. Although as player, so the DM picked the setting and system. In 2002, D20 games were coming out everywhere, 3rd edition was booming. The Book of Vile Darkness, and the Mature over 18 cover hidden Book of E*** Fantasywas just coming out. (causing the change in the OGL to include a paragraph about adult content.)
There are a lot of people on these forums and other sites on the internet that need to take a step back and calm down.
The OGL was originally designed to allow content creators to create content for D&D and share it with others; it was never intended as a way for people to build businesses based on the use of other people's (WotC) content for free. It isn't reasonable to expect WotC to continue to accept other businesses making profits based on their IP with no control and no revenue.
Instead of everyone running around in a panic, perhaps it would be wiser to engage with WotC to point out flaws with the new version and work on comprises to address the issues raised.

This is literally not correct. When 3.0 came out there was already companies, like Mongoose Publishing, publishing 3rd party content with no license other than the OGL. I was there. Sit down.
Well, my local game is shifting from me being DM to another, and one of the other guys is going to be running a 2e game on alternating weekends. My online campaign, which currently is 100% dependent on DNDBeyond, is very likely going to transition to playing another system, one we used to play when we were all in the Army, after a few more sessions. I will be cancelling my subscription after I post this, just for those reasons. I absolutely loathe the 1.1 changes to a letter, but I've adopted a wait and see position, because apparently this was supposed to have been officially enacted last week, and so far, has not. It is entirely possible they will change their minds, at least in part.

That's not true, tons of third party content that was sold for 3.0/3.5 when the OGL was created.
