We just added Party Inventory to the character sheets on DDB (read more here) and for those of you in longform campaigns where one or two people are DEFINITELY holding all the good stuff for the party, I kinda wanna see what you're holding...

what is in the party inventory? I will let the party answer.
Necromancer: "I ain't answering that question till a lot of people get really cool with some very specific things."
Rouge: "Not without a Warrant."
Cleric: "I swear it is for religious purposes!"
Druid: "Ummm a bunch of mushrooms that the cleric is convinced let him see his god, but... they are Porchini mushrooms. I Grew them for stew and he won't let us use them."
Bard: "I would say replacement strings for my lute, but i think i am out of them already."
Warlock: "My Patron, who doesn't get to come out until he learns to Behave."
Paladin: "50 pounds of butter. What? you thought the choirboy with the Lute or Ms.Sulks in the shadows were going to be the Troublemakers didn't you?"

So is the idea that you can see everything everyone has, or is it a separate space that's commonly accessible? If the former, is there a way to actually see who has it? In the picture I didn't see anything that indicated that.
Judging by the app, I'd say it's a separate common space...but sometimes these things take time to populate and work properly.

So far I've put everything our party found in a ruins we are exploring and have not divided or sold yet, even the magic items we are still discussing how to divide between us (long pause between sessions, we aren't really in a hurry).
The system looks good, I'm prolly overextending its use because more than 90% of that will be sold for cash (and better to note somewhere else), instead of being a "real" party inventory, but seems.
My IT mind would probably ask for a "Log" to see who took and item from the list... (Metagaming aspects aside).
This feature doesn't affect me in any way (most players in my games don't use dndbeyond), but it's great to see more frequent updates to the changelog!
This is a great feature and I'm excited for our next session on Saturday when we can discuss as a group how we want to utilize it :)
I do have a few questions on how this works if you have time to share some info:
What container is the "Party Equipment" going into?
Who is carrying that container?
How does this affect Carrying Capacity and Encumbrance? (I ask as I added some pretty heavy items from my Bag of Holding into the Party Equipment and DDB says the Party Equipment is at Zero Pounds)
Again, I think this is a great idea, especially in the situation that someone is out for a session and you can't remember if they have the MacGuffin in their inventory.
Cheers!

I think most of those questions will need to be answered by the DM and the party rather than DDB. All they've done is add an extra inventory that everyone can access, it'll be up to us how it actually works in game. In my case I suspect it'll end up being the party's Bag of Holding
Rules-wise, the Party Inventory isn’t a container itself, though you can add containers to it, like a backpack or Bag of Holding.
Anything in the Party Inventory that’s equipped by a character is carried by that character. That includes containers (and thus any contents of that container).
Anything not equipped (or in an equipped container) won’t count toward any character’s carrying capacity. This lets you use it for things the characters aren’t actually carrying, like a wagon and its contents, or items that stay at their home base.
If anyone is having trouble with this concept, it is like the oldschool Pack-mule. You put all the stuff you aren't using in the pack-mule and have your personal inventory of things that you are using, or are in your personal backpacks so others can use them. You can flavor it almost anything from a walking chest, a mule, a connected bag of holding, each player remeber who has what, or just treat it as an unexplained mechanic.
It is very useful for people like me who hoard healing potions to just place them in the party inventory and people who need them, take them, instead of me manually giving them to each person.

Yeah, it’s a separate, shared space. Anything in a character’s own personal inventory won’t be shared.

My group was just talking about how we wanted a feature to see what we had in the bag of holding as a party. Excellent news!

A single health potion as I just found out about the feature today

Potions. And glad I saw this thread because it's a functionality that should hopefully come in handy (somewhat) for my Discord friend group.
