Let's be honest, "most people" are just going to use whatever WOTC has officially put down as rules/rules options. Not that there aren't a lot of people who do homebrew, but, I imagine there is not a plurality.

have you ever looked at the homebrew section ? there is like thousand times more content there then there is official content. that said, homebrewing is much better then just following the game mechanics as designed. my only problem with homebrew is that everyone wants to do classes for things that simple archetypes can do. and the even jeremy crawford and mike mearls said that you should ask yourself... is it really worth a full class or can it be done in archetypes. and most often then not, what other players have sent me they wanna do, only ever requires an archetype.
exemple... my friend wanted an overwatch ana type character... he said, full class and truly just wanted that to be. but after seeing all of his ideas i realised he couldn'T fill an entire class and not to mention he was just copying the wizard full spell list and spell casting. so i said why do you need a full on class ? he said, because there is too many things i want in. and i said all you have told me could get into an archetype for the wizard and just gve you all the benefits while still having the benefits of a wizard, so again, why do you need a full class ? and then i said, do your stuff i'll do the archetype, let's compare afterward. once we were done on thenext week, he looked at my build and said... oh... now i get it... yeah there is much more stuff in your archetype then there is in mine. and in the end he has been playing the wizard archetype i created for him. he has a blast and it still great fun for him.
reality being, most complete class you wanna do can easily be done as an archetype of the core classes. the only problem do not come from the class or archetype, but mostly, by my own experience, from the player wanting everything in the first 5 to 10 levels. archetypes takes a long time to get to, homebrew clases, gives it to you directly at lower levels. by my experience, people just don't wanna wait because they know they wont get to the higher levels to feel the character they want. and thus ends up making low level classes to get it all from the get go.
that's my experience on it.

Ideally, I like to make notes while I DM on things I'd change from the campaign resources. For example, I'm running suggestions from reddit user MandyMod for how to run Curse of Strahd. I find myself copy and pasting into an empty word document, and then arranging things from there.
While we are playing, I'm constantly flipping thru multiple tabs to keep things together. I was wondering if there's a way to "edit" the campaigns currently within DnD Beyond, or if there would be the capability to edit in the future.
Any chance that the magic items creator, and others, will be getting any updates in the future? Specifically being able to change weapon die and a few other bits and pieces.
I use OneNote, I copy the content from the adventure into OneNote and organise it into sections. If we could have something similar built in would be great.

Any chance of a screenshot? Interested in what this ends up looking like.
Forgive me if this has been suggested, or is already on the roadmap.
D&D Beyond needs a "DMs Screen". The new game log is a great step forward, but it is basically only useful for players, since they can roll dice from their character sheets with all modifiers accounted for. Until DMs can also do this in the encounter manager with all of the monsters/npcs in the encounter, the game log isn't very useful.
I can see an argument being presented that DMs shouldn't have to roll in the open, which I accept even though I disagree, but this could also be addressed with a toggle to hide the DM's rolls from the group. If nothing else, it would take the effort of calculating all of their dice rolls off the plate of the DM, which seems absurd considering the maturity of this tool.
What is going to be replacing the roadmap? Because I've been looking forward to containers and actually being able to homebrew weapon types for a while, it would be nice to know how far along those are.

They haven't said yet, although they have said they are looking for new ways. As of this week, at least, Adam was still providing some info for "upcoming" items during the Dev updates; my impression is that such updates will continue in some fashion, but that doesn't give quite as long of a "road map" as the trello board did. Adam indicated in this week's Dev update that part of why the trello board has been shut down was that it wasn't working: he was supposed to be keeping it up, and it got lost in the midst of all of his other responsibilities.
for now i think they have a bigger problem thewn just the roadmap...
they are losing like half of their staff right now... adam is going away, oboe and kenreck also. not to mention they lost their lead article developper too... thats a lot in just 2 weeks if you ask me.
the trello itself was a problem more then anything... not to mention not many people watched it. people were seeing the trello as a way to say, oh its coming in the next few days. which was a problem... the same is true for the voting websites... most people are asking things here and they don't even know there is a voting on the other place. so why keep those... its obvious that voting was cool at the beginning, but now they have a ton of stuff on their list. they clearly have no way of adding more.
my opinion, i don't think they will ever remake the trello. i think they will continu to use the dev update for talking to people.

Adam, Lauren, Todd and James don't represent anything close to half the staff, so fear not. Also MellieDM will be taking over Laurens responsibility and Joe Starr has been brought over to not only take over some of Adam's and Todd's responsibilities, but build a new team to put out content for the community.
So fear, a small number of the team have moved on, and none of them dev side and there are already people stepping into their (very big) shoes.
Out of interest are you using/considering to Jira at all? There are a number of ways of managing releases on Jira that could be easily extracted and posted to a public site somewhere allowing visibility of the roadmap items. It is something we have done internally for our stakeholders as they don't all have Jira access and want a high level view of the features and epics that are part of the current roadmap. I will also say to anyone else seeing this thread that "Tech Debt" items, while not sexy new features, are a necessary part of product development and generally mean a more stable product that is quicker and easier for the developers to work on and develop in future.

Appologies for the slow reply,
Here is a screenshot of my current campaign without revealing any of the copyrighted material (hopefully) I have created hyperlinks to relivent pages throughout the document too. eg when a NPC is mentioned I hyperlink that to the NPC's details page.

Not necessarily edit, but add notes? That would be handy.
I dunno....I use OneNote almost exclusively. So, OneNote style "notebook" to contain my campaign notes, would be amazing.

Can we get a magic item type of tattoo so we can filter on that only? thanks,
Can we get "OneNote" for D&D Beyond? That would legit, super consolidate all kinds of stuff for me
Can we get CFVs as an individual purchase option for Tasha’s?

Note that Dndbeyond are no longer using their trello board, pbackman has archived their site on that web site away two hours ago.
So at the moment the public no longer know what their priorities are.
