Just use the improvised weapon rules. A portable ram is basically a 35 pound log with handles. Running at an enemy while carrying a heavy object isn't a practical thing to do in combat. You'd be better off trying to hit them with just about anything else you can get your hands on.
So right now I'm making a warforged barbarian. his racial stats give him the carrying capacity (pushing, pulling, lifting) of a large creature. Should he have disadvantage still? should he do more damage?
Been looking around for how to handle a portable ram as an improvised weapon, is they any consensus to what the damage or requirements would be?
The DMG has a little blurb on siege weapons that might help you out

As an improvised weapon against creatures, I'd go with what InquisitiveCoder said. As a weapon against objects, I'd give it strong damage.

I'd just call it a greatclub at that point.
My satyr Creation bard used a portable ram as her go-to object to animate into a Dancing Item. Was great fun flying it around into enemies.
